How do you pass the time in the maddening nothingness between matches at the business end of the season?

I am a forced early retiree, so spend a lot of time with my toddler (mostly teaching him about football and maths), as I am able, and serial shite posting on here.

I occasionally read books or long form articles, mostly about current affairs, science, or football. I used to read a lot more but now it seems a much less prudent use of my time.

I also day trade to add to the family trust fund for when I am gone, which thankfully takes up a decent amount of focus time during the day.

How do you survive the emptiness of meaning and purpose between our games as we chase the treble? ;-)

My last job as a legal clerk required immense concentration so my work kept me occupied usually.

I was shocking over the tail end of 2011/12 season. Days would drag when it was back in our own hands. Newcastle away was agony following it on a train on Twitter. I’d turned down going to attend the wedding of a friend I no longer know.

Listening to The Smiths and Morrissey.
