How far back in time do your City memories go.

One of my earliest memory of Maine Rd was standing in the Kippax as a nipper . We were playing Southampton . When the players ran out onto the pitch the whole Kippax was singing ''..FUCK OFF KEEGAN , FUCK OFF KEEGAN ..'' .
Not sure of the result ? It could've been 2-1 to us , but not too sure ?
I do remember telling my Dad when I got home what everyone was singing , and getting a clip round the ear .

My earliest recollection of City is as an 8 year old reading the Pink's match report after City won 3-2 at the Swamp in 1962/63 - Alex Harley scored one of the goals I think.

That was a cracker by Harley in the Stretford End too - I was there in the "Kippax" type stand they had then

not my first memory, but remember sitting on the white wall with a scarf tied around my wrist watching rodney warm up.the best seeing the king in the tunnel gripping his cuffs ready to come out against newcastle

They go back to around 1968 , when i first took notice who Manchester City were ....... mind you it was purely because most of my mates and neighbours supported them.

My old Dad (84 this December) can remember being huddled round a radio/crystal set in a back alley in Collyhurst listening to the 1934 Cup Final with his school mates.
Can anyone else go further back in time with their City memories or recollections.

My dad actually went to the game, (Aged 10), left his bike against a lampost in Maine Road and it was still there after the match!!

Me? Bert Trautmann's tesimonial match..... 1964.

lol,no chance mate i'm not THAT old, remember stan horne, johnny crossan and co in 65, it was my first season going to the games, loved it.

Went with my Dad in 67/68 I think, against a team called Athletico D' Coimbra at Maine Rd. I am sure Harry Dowd was in goal and Stan Horne was in midfield. We walked home to Hulme and got chips somewhere near Brooks's Bar, oh happy days

I think you've got a bit mixed up with the game your dad attended, because the 1934 Cup Final was played at the Empire Stadium,Wembley,London.
It would have been a long bike ride to London and back for a 10 year old boy, even if there was a lot less traffic about in those days!!!!
