I always walked all the way.
Haha! Seems absolutely mental looking back now that a 4 yr old me was allowed to walk to school under the protection of my 7 year old sister every day!! Was only about 15 mins but seemed a lot longer when you’ve only got little legs.
You are Wednesday from the Addams Family.3 Mile walk? Bloody luxury!
We walked 36 miles, all uphill, through a Forrest filled with monsters. When we reached school, we were uniformly beaten to a pulp, for having the blood of our friends splattered on our uniforms. Then 6 of maths everyday.
Still, wouldn’t change a thing.
Nice one StephenNelahozeves, Zlonice and later Prague ;-)
Back on topic, I used to walk about 1 mile to primary school but we had a school bus to secondary school as it was around 4 or 5 miles away.
My lips are sealed ;-)Nice one Stephen
I used to really fancy a girl who volunteered at the Nelahozeves Zamek. She lived in the town adjacent to the village where I was living and we both used the same train every day. She came to visit her cousin who lived next door to us too. Eva would kill me if she knew haha.

Only had a 1 mile walk, but the heat here made it the longest walk ever…
Walked or ran about 2 km (yes I’m Dutch). Every schoolday.
Cycled everyday at secondary school, 3 miles each way in all weathers. Two rows of bicycle sheds and a chain and padlock, those were the days. Even did a morning paper round before going to school.
Fair play fella.
I only hope it was blue and white. My walk to school was about a mile but i didn't always walk. My mum had a job waking me up and sometimes she'd come in my bedroom and put a cold wet sponge on my face to get me out of bed. If i was late she'd insist on giving me a lift on the back of her Honda 90 which i hated as some from my school would take the piss.
Jesus!!Walked or ran about 2 km (yes I’m Dutch). Every schoolday.
Also had to walk 3 km to the club where I played my football. And shower there as well. Remember my 1st training as an 8 year old (in those days you had to be 8 to become a member). Got home dirty. My mum sent me back. I gave you a bag with soap and clothes to clean yourself there. Not here. Closed the door and left me no choice.
