Like the Maradona one, I would like to start another thread on Ronaldinho. However, since I have seen him play I can give a fair review.
He is the greatest entertainer in footbal I have ever seen. If I want long term success for my team, I probably will choose Messi or C. Ronaldo but if I have to choose the player to watch every day of the week, it would be this guy.

His performances at Barcelona were some of the best footballing displays I have seen so far. Thank god the rags fucked up the deal.

Unfortunately, his peak was really short but I can't emphasize on how much I enjoyed watching him play at his peak. Literlally, destroyed players with nothing but skills and his smile.

- At 1.34, nice to see Gerrard put on his ass.

He was one of those life in a life time players, skilful and talented and god given talent, could of been a messi , Ronald ( the gay one )
Maradonna etc but like a lot of the Brazilians who come to Europe the nightclubs and easy woman stopped him being a all time great.

still a fabulous player, all time top 20 but not top 5 or up for debate with Messi etc like he could of or should of been.

that goal at the bridge when he left Cech flat footed with the outside of his right boot was special.

There is probably a lot of players with his level of ball control. Not many can do it at running at the speed he does it and not many have the courage and audacity to do it. There is something in the heart of these special players that make them different to the mortals around them

File under Romario for possessing outrageous ability but not having the smarts to sustain a successful career. As a pure footballer, there haven’t been many better & without doubt one of the best players I’ve ever seen live. But his legacy may well be what could have been. Still one of the great modern Brazilians, mind.

Remarkably gifted and played like he was a kid taking the piss in the playground.

As good as anyone ever, but only in fits and starts.

Lacked the consistency to be a bona fide "great" though imo.

Messi is correct, Ronnie contributed fundamentally to the club's course correction after Gaspart. It wasn't just the joga bonito but the atmosphere he created among teammates (The hugging ritual to start matches) and in the stadium - he evoked great passion. Moreover, his inspirational play was habitually decisive even in the biggest matches

Shined brilliantly albeit all too briefly. I'm more a glass is half full sort of person but it's one of the most lamentable things that still lingers with me, that his time with Leo was cut short due to his lack of professionalism as great as everything has been that followed

My all time favourite non city player, he had incredible ball control and the flair to attempt, and usually pull off, the dramatic.
What I loved about him most was that he played the game with a huge sense of joy and just plain fun, he made it into something magical.
I'll forever be grateful that I got to see him play in the flesh.
