How good was Ronaldinho?

I remember the opening game at the Etihad against Barca. Early in the match he came to take a corner down by the East Stand/South Stand. We all stood to applaud him and he had a big grin on his face, presumably because he thought we were acknowledging his greatness. Actually we were all clapping & cheering because he'd decided to stay at Barca that summer instead of joining the Rags ! It was a priceless moment.
He was a great player though.

Imagine if we’d have got him back in 2008, seems to have been forgotten after the takeover and everything that came with it but it was a real possibility that we signed him earlier that summer and that was under Thaksin. Would’ve been surreal to see him at City he was a ridiculous talent.

He was one of those life in a life time players, skilful and talented and god given talent,could of been a messi , Ronald ( the gay one )
Maradonna etc but like a lot of the Brazilians who come to Europe the nightclubs and easy woman stopped him being a all time great.

still a fabulous player, all time top 20 but not top 5 or up for debate with Messi etc like he could of or should of been.

that goal at the bridge when he left Cech flat footed with the outside of his right boot was special.

Loved his goal at The Bridge. He was a magician, so skillful and quick and played with a smile on his face. He was different to all the greats, he had a unique style. I would have loved to see him in England but it just never materialized

Real joy to watch, ultimately that's all it matters to me as a fan of football. I will remember him much longer than most of the other more 'successful', non-city footballers, other than Messi perhaps.

Simply the best I have ever seen. He had the courage to play street football on the professional platform. He always had smile on his face and you could just see that he truly enjoyed playing football and entertaining fans.

In my humble opinion, he was the best alongside Diego Maradona as the ultimate entertainers.

R10 was sent by God to play football.

Incredible player. Went over to Barca to watch him play and pre-match he was a doubt. Many others in the hostel were there for the same reason to watch Barca, but him play in particular.

He was passed fit and scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win and was comfortably the best player. The Barca forward line was Ronaldinho Etoo Messi with Deco as an attacking midfielder.
