The cake nonsense was blown out of proportion by the media and I hate to say this, but at the time, Pep's reaction at that press conference was over the top, I don't know if it was down to the pressure from the media due to a poor first season or other personal issues but Pep lost his composure there.

Looking back at the whole thing, Selcuck or whatever the fuck his name is, made both comments, none of them came from Yaya, so Pep having a meltdown and focusing his anger at Yaya for another man's comments seemed like an overly emotional reaction I would expect from a social media influencer.
 
For me, he's our greatest ever footballer. He could pass like KDB. He had a touch like Sivla. He could dictate a game like Rodri. Then when he got bored, he could just run past everybody else with pace and power, before finishing like Sergio. Added to that were his wonder free kicks and never missing a penalty.
He was a truly gifted footballer and I don't think he gets the credit that he deserves.
Hes the best midfielder that has ever played in the Premier League.

Rodri.

In 23/24 Rodri had 17 GA from open play. In 13/14, Yaya had 19 GA from open play, just two more than Rodri, while playing in a much more advanced position, completing a lot fewer passes and doing a lot less defensive work.

In 23/24 Rodri completed over 3300 passes, the most ever in the PL. He dominated midfield more than any other player in PL history, going 74 games unbeaten in all club competitions, beating Maldini's record in the process. Ballon d'Or for a reason.
 
World class and extremely intimidating for opponents.

When he decided we were winning a game, we were winning a game. He loved doing that in big, important games.

That goal in the league cup v Sunderland was his best imo.

To think, we had him, Kev, David and Fern in midfield together at one point is fucking insane.

How about blaming the club for not being able to see his dying brother?

His agent was his mouthpiece and Yaya could have silenced him at any time; he never did while he was at City.

Rodri is brilliant but peak Yaya would’ve had him for breakfast.
 
A genuine game changer and probably the most influential signing we have made in modern times

As I have said on previous threads
If he hadn’t gone off injured v QPR
There would have been no 93-20
It wouldn’t have been necessary cos he would have sorted out much earlier

Never met Yaya but I'm fairly sure he's not stupid and used Seluk as a tool to say what he wanted without the blowback. A rampaging beast and unstoppable on the field (as was the whole team then) but not so likeable off field. Seluk was just a slug.
