To be fair, he was good at Juventus and had been good for his national team. Its understandable why they thought there was a good player in there. Obviously after a while it was evident it wasn't working. Whether it was his attitude, or the club being shit show, I don't know but it didnt work out. But the Pogba for Juventus and France should've been an improvement on what they had.

Still, I'd understand someone pinning their hopes on improving because a relatively young Pogba might come good more than a shot to bits Casemiro coming back from injury.

I just can't understand who they're looking at to come back from injury that's a big improvement on what's already available. That small defender is decent at best. They were already saying Mount was shite when he was fit.
At Juve he had Pirlo behind him, a midfielder who did all the donkey work ( can't remember his name) & Tevez who worked his socks off, so he could look pretty & play when he wanted. Although Delph didn't have the same ability on the ball & I'm not comparing Delph to Pogba, he struggled when he went to Everton & didn't have world class players around him.

Yeah but you could attribute that to any "luxury" players, that they had people doing the donkey work behind them, so you cant pick and choose who we use that as a negative point towards. They still have to do their part. He was doing well at Juventus and getting a decent goal return for a CM. You don't get 90 caps for France If you're not good.

It's the rags fault for not understanding how to get the best out of him and not buying players around him to get the best out of him in a system.

We don't play 11 foden's do we? He is only able to excel because other players do a job that allows him to do what he does. That's what building a team and system is.

Like him or not, Pogba was a very good player in the right team over multiple seasons, that's why he's played for France 90 times and won a world cup etc. Voted in the Serie A team of the year multiple times, UEFA team of the year etc..

If the rags didn't know how to assemble a team to get the best out of players, then it's a reflection on them, not Pogba who had proved he can excel in other teams.

The longevity of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United is a topic that hinges on numerous variables, including performance, results, and the dynamics within the club. It's evident that the expectations at a club like United are high, and managerial tenures are often scrutinised in relation to achieving success. The football landscape is known for its unpredictability, and only time will reveal how ten Hag adapts to the challenges at Old Trafford. As for the tongue-in-cheek "Save Poundland Pep," the nickname for Pep Guardiola, it highlights the humorous banter within football discussions. While Guardiola is far from being associated with a discount store, it's a playful way to acknowledge the success of managers across different tiers of the sport. Football discussions are a mix of serious analysis and lighthearted banter, adding to the vibrant and passionate nature of the sport's fanbase.
