How long will the rebuild take?

there is NO fix in Jan, we may get lucky and pick a good player up but thats it, the Jan window is not a time for multiple players to be signing, Pep has no choice he simply has to fix what is wrong, im sad to say as it stands we will not be making top 4,anyone who seriously thinks we will have the blue tinted specs on, there is no chance as 3 place will be Liverpool,Arsenal,Chelsea, leaving one place for up to six clubs to slog it out and on current form we are not one of those six teams

City have created the most chances in the league this season. They've also had the most shots, the most shots on target, we have the highest xG and Haaland has the most shots on target in the league and is the leading scorer.

The idea that all is lost because we've had some bad results is overly reactive nonsense. Our problem is that Haaland isn't converting enough chances given to him and every defender and defensive midfielder at the club all the way down to the EDS is either injured or unfit.

I just don’t see the club wanting the bad optics of spending heavily. So I really don’t see the club fixing the issues any time soon tbh. I feel it could take 4 windows.

If it where me I’d sign a cb in jan which would hopefully free up akanji to play rb (assuming he can stay fit)

And a cm in Jan

In summer I would then sign another winger someone like Williams at bilbao (need real top quality)

I’d also sign another cm, another cb and a cam

I’d also try and sign a striker

I’d let the following players leave:

Grealish, kdb, walker, stones, Gundo, Kovacic

Squad would look something like:

Gk
Ederson
Ortega

Rb
Akanji
Lewis

Cb
Dias
Ake
Murrilo (signed from forest)
Tah (from bayer on a free)

Lb
Gvardiol
Callum Doyle

Dm
Rodri
Ederson (from Atalanta)

Cm
Bernardo silva
Foden
Nunes
Wirtz
Bruno g (from Newcastle)

Wingers
Doku
Savinho
Williams (from bilbao)
Bobb

Forwards
Haaland
Kyogo (from Celtic)

Squad of 23 players and good depth imo. Wirtz is only one who I think may not be attainable as looks like he is Madrid bound.

Go;

Walker - has to be moved on and it was a fuck up persuading him to stay. Hes been awesome. Not anymore

Stones- guys world class but just cannot stay fit. Time to go

Ake - very good but like stones, terrible injury record. Time to go

Gundo- i was very happy he returned but a mistake in hind site

Nunes - just not good enough.

Kovacic - hes ok. Thats it though and wouldnt be near a city team of years gone by.

Phillips - wont ever come back so as good as gone

Mcatee and lewis - i just dont think they will make the grade. Much as we all want a team full of young blues.

Akanji- tough one. I like him and hes been a bargain but without a strong partner he goes to pot. Probs keep but dunno

Grealish too is a tough one. Probs keep but again not sure.

JURY OUT;

Doku and savinho. They arent going to go anytime soon but im not convinced by either and both have a lot of improving to do

PICK ONE FROM 2;

Ederson and ortega , dunno which one and i feel neither are quite up to level just now.

KEEP;
Dias, gvardiol, foden , haaland bobb

UP TO THEM;
KDB and bernardo , they owe us nothing, up to them. Pair of legends
Carson will just retire and join the coaching staff
Scary reading but also very truthful.

The rags at their peak under the pisscan and the dippers in the 70s and 80s often moved on their "star " players when they still looked to be at the top of their game, often the fans and the world of football were shocked but ultimately and for the good of their clubs they were right.

We have shown far too much loyalty and to allow all these players to grow old together and to let the others become so fatigued is a shockingly poor decision making from our execs.

Make no mistake, this is probably going to get much worse before it gets better. There's no quick fix for what we're going through right now. Hopefully with a couple fresh faces in January we can make a start at getting back on track.

I remember in the documentary a clip of txixi sitting there with his stupid arrogant head on him saying " in the end we keep on winning " and its this arrogance which has led to today

You know he was a big part of the reason why we're the most dominant team of the last decade, why we're treble winners, won 4 titles in a row, broke record after record....

Two bad months and people have turned on him.

might find when Fodens back to his usual self and Kovacic returns things may just click back to what they were, hoping this for the derby on sunday, still means we need palyers though and get rid of a few
