How long will the rebuild take?

How many transfer windows does everyone think will be need to get us back to our best?

We probably need:
GK (one will leave?)
RB
CB
LB
DM
KDB replacement
Bernardo replacement
Back up to Haaland

Possibly more depending on other departures

Not impossible to just go and buy them all in one go. Huge pot of money ready if the charges get cleared. What are we going to do, buy 2 players next summer then be sat around going into Pep's final season again and wondering what we are doing.

Either do it all in one go or we are going to be falling into the usual pack in the league again.

Which is a worry unless Pep extends again
Not really he will start the ball rolling with the first phase of the rebuild along with Viana and perhaps may see play a part the following summer, depending on how the summer goes.

Perhaps that's one of the reasons the PL leadership are trying to drag out the 115 case and are now briefing the media that it could take till the end of the season.

If we want any chance of challenging again on all fronts. This rebuild has to be done quickly.

Identify players now and go and activate release clauses or lay the money down.

We need another keeper. One of Eddie or Ortega will leave.

We need a proper LB and proper RB (Kyle is done)

DM - Rodri backup (so he can rest and rotate)

De Bruyne replacement. (Pretty much impossible) but someone who can thread a pass.

Another quality CM - musiala/wirtz style

ST - Another out and out striker to partner Haaland. Or give him a rest when required.

And forget penny pinching! One of the reasons we are in this mess is due to arguing over a few million.

It won't. The new players will still need time to fully gel. It does need to start in the summer.

Really should have started in the summer just gone but never mind. A rebuild is required and I hope targets are being identified now. It could be a large turnover of players in the next 9 months but get it right and we could be set for years. The issue may be acquiring players who then take the possible season to adapt to Peps methods.

Don't think we need much.

Signing a high quality DM/CM and a high quality RB in Jan would get us through this season in good shape.

Looking further forward, we'll need a KDB replacement (Wirtz, Musiala) and a Haaland back-up.

The spine of the team will be strong when Rodri returns and the injury crisis abates.

No way our owners will risk missing out on top 4 which, with our current form is a very big possibility
Availabilty is the whole issue and face it we aren't going to suddenly start spending wildly during January with a new DoF being apppointed. We can at pinch miss out on a season (maybe a possibilty two) out of the Champions League.

We'll spend what it takes to secure a top 4 finish. Which could be a couple of very expensive signings.
I think people are deluding themselves if they think we can bring in the kind of quality we need in January. Even if top quality players become available then, which they don't often, who worth his salt is going to want to sign for us until the Premier League charges have been resolved?

Agree with other posters that top 4 this season is priority then rebuild from there .

I personally think the following will go by the end of summer:

Ederson
Carson
Walker
Stones
Ake (possibly)
Bernardo
Grealish
Gundo

Plus some of the academy players that have come through without playing much, McAtee etc
