How many of the 92 Football League grounds are you on?

I’ve done about 70 I reckon , some like Moro the old and new as Bolton Walsall Stoke etc ,

That’s very impressive. Presumably, teams like York and Torquay are on your list?
Yep plus Chester Bury, it’s improbable we’ll draw some of the missing ones within my lifetime. I’d be ok if we get demoted to league 2 with the charges, not ideal circumstances admittedly!

I had done all 92 by the mid 90’s but many of those have new stadiums now. That said they were half with City and the other half with Lincoln …. so not sure it really counts.

2 grounds I wish I’d visited but didn’t were Ayresome Park and Roker Park.
They were raw grounds, was at Ayresome for the game Lakey got injured, I think that was a night game and really foggy. Roker park no sooner had we got out the car we were chased down the road!

Ah I hadn’t counted new and old grounds just teams so that gives me a higher number. Will have to rework that number.

Of the original 92 clubs before clubs were promoted from the National League circa 1986,I have seen City play at 90 out of the 92.
I have seen 26 of those teams on there new grounds as well
The ones missing were Orient and Hartlepool
1 to go after Saturday.
I think Mad eyed Screamer has done the same.
That’d be very interesting if you can list the 90 that we played first team matches against.

I’m on 83

I’ve got the following left to tick off-

Coventry (went to Highfield Road)
Fleetwood
Stevenage
MK Dons
Bromley (which I’m doing today)
AFC Wimbledon
Crawley
Colchester United (went to Layer Road)
Cambridge United

I’m going to try to get there by the end of the season - but it might end up being early next season.

Saving Cambridge for the last one and going to have a weekend down there to celebrate.
I’m on 85 now. Done Fleetwood and Bromley since my original post.

I’m on 160 grounds in total.

I got to 63 when still living in England. Like many, i have lost quite a few with new grounds and demotion.
It was helped by sharing a house with a guy who used to do reporting for Viking Radio and so I used to go along to games with him. The joys of Aldershot v Grimsby, Maidstone v Scunthorpe.
Stamford Bridge in the press box for Chelsea v Grimsby sat next to Frank McClintock was a nice one

I'm on 88 of the current 92, missing AFCW, Bromley, Crawley and Colchester's new ground, though I saw City win 1-0 at their old Layer Road ground in 1998-99.
I've also watched games at the grounds of 15 former league clubs (10 against City) and I've been to games at 33 old grounds of current EFL teams (25 against City).
Plus Istanbul and Porto for CL finals, 5 in Scotland including City at Rangers, Celtic and Dundee, two in Wales, and City away at Hamburg, BMG, Schalke, Bayern Munich, PSG, Groclin, Lokeren, Ajax, Feyenoord, Barcelona and Balymena.
Also about 20-25 non-league grounds while doing a bit of low level groundhopping.

Yeah, but where were you when we was shit?

I've done 12. I've done more European than English ones according to my brain this morning. I've been to six matches since last going to the Ethiad and none of them involved City. Maybe I am a rag.

But have you watched City at "The Oval" Caernavon?

Lots of new grounds when we were allowing other teams to win things.
I was on 85 of the then 92 when we were in the 3rd tier (though not all watching City). Five were in our division so got those ticked off, the sixth was Derby's new ground and we played there in the League Cup, and the 7th was Brighton's temporary ground which I wasn't too arsed about as they were planning to move to the Amex.

The ones I have done that no longer exist.
  • Highbury
  • White Heart Lane
  • Boleyn Ground
  • Filbert Street
  • The Dell
  • Roker Park
  • Highfield Road
  • The Victoria Ground
  • Ninian Park
  • Baseball Ground
  • Burnden Park
  • Millmoor
