All I know is that a lot of these lovely people supported or where in the IRA. They bombed my city so I have little or no time for them. And spare me the 'minority' blah blah blah.....people may not have all planted bombs but they were in full support....look at the donations from the likes of Mc Donalds to NORAID and many other wealthy Irish ex pats/

We all have personal experience and each can be very different.

Anyway, I think you were going off at a tangent a little bit. I mentioned the events in Ireland as a way of explaining the mass emigration in the nineteenth century. Your post seemed to imply that they came over here on a merry little day trip jaunt and decided they liked it so much they would stay.

'These People' is that the Irish population as a whole? Or Irish people who live on mainland Britain? Do you believe that all these people supported in full what the IRA did?

I see that the thread has taken a bit of a nosedive since that bit of ah,politics shall we say ? above.Which is a bit of a pity as i'am always interested in people of irish blood and city supporting no matter what part of the world they come from, nor no matter what religion they hold or politics they support.
