How many points to win the league?

I need us to score 34 goals in the remaining 14 matches
Shall I give up!!

Give your fanny a wipe

And yours.

I think we will do it - just being ultra cautious.

Jut don't want to give the rags any glimmer of hope.

Given we've only recently gone past the half way point, I'd imagine most teams have a similar 'run-in'. Arsenal v Liverpool is the only top 6 game (I think) has been played twice.

And we've already played the next three strongest teams i.e. Chelsea, United and Liverpool away from home. If anything, we've probably got a slightly favorable selection of second round fixtures in terms of the home/away weighting. And we don't have to play Liverpool again at all now, which is great as they're definitely a team we struggle against.

Interesting if Chelsea and us both make the League Cup Final, as the final is the same day as we are supposed be at Arsenal and Chelsea are at the Rags, these games would normally get pushed to the back end of the season. So in effect our next game against a top 6 rival would not be until 3rd March when we play Chelsea at home.

Over the next nine games, we'd need United & Chelsea to lose two and draw two (approx.), if we want to have a chance of securing the title at the derby. The chance of this would be even more remote if we have games re-arranged from pre-derby to after.

United have 4 games where dropping points is almost certain, just depends how many; Away Spurs, Home Liverpool, Home Chelsea, Away City. Lose two and draw two from these and their other games and winning the league against them is ON !

Chelsea only really have 3 games were dropping points is almost certain; Away United, Away City, Home Spurs. But they are 3 points further off the pace than United.

Summary, If we beat Chelsea & United and do the job against the other teams, the weekend of 7th/8th April could equal that Aguero moment.

If City and the rags took maximum points from now till the derby (Not happening) and City beat the rags it would be a 15 point lead and probably still a huge advantage on GD with 5 games to go it'll be won.

So we need the rags to drop 1 point (more than us) and beat them in the derby and Chelsea to also drop 1 less than us to be Champions against them Apr 7/8.

Yes, that works on the maximum point basis and with no re-arranged games. But as you said, that's not going to happen.

Just hope we don't have another last day or something crazy happens.
I couldn't cope with it again.

When we are at our strongest we beat everyone - I genuinely believe if Dave had played against Liverpool we would have won. The way we play is like a well oiled machine and when component parts are swapped out, the overall performance starts to suffer. Injuries could still play a part. We are still a small squad and I didn't like the look of Delph on tunnel cam vs barcodes- he was limping very heavily. Think we are at capacity just now with 4 important players out. Please god we can get a couple of them back in the next 2 weeks. I think we will win the title but it may be a bit tighter than anyone would want if we are unlucky with further injuries.

I want it over with at the earliest opportunity. Keep winning and it won't be too long. The others have no margin for error at all.

Let’s hope Liverpool lose or draw tonight. That would be them out of it.

I don't want the lead down to 8 points with 6 games to go, no surely it couldn't happen?
