How many points to win the league?

can we really win something without any dramas and have games in hand. i don't remember anything won the easy way even cup finals and play off's we are made to work for it. this new manchester city is going to take some getting used too and we have to start shouting it out from the hills WE ARE THE BEST
Good point. We’ve just about won almost everything we’ve ever won. Almost nothing we’ve ever won has been won at a canter. Every league title won on the final day, almost every cup win has been in the balance up until the final whistle.

1904 FA Cup 1-0 win over Bolton
1934 FA Cup 2-1 win over Portsmouth
1937 won the league by 3 points over Charlton
1956 FA Cup 3-1 win over Birmingham (every round on the way to Wembley we won by one goal, one went to a replay)
1968 won the league by two points over United
1969 FA Cup 1-0 win over Leicester
1970 League Cup 2-1 win over West Brom
1970 European Cup Winners Cup 2-1 win over Górnik Zabrze
1976 League Cup 2-1 win over Newcastle
2011 FA Cup 1-0 win over Stoke (were on our way out at Notts Co in the early rounds until we equalised late on and took it to a replay)
2012 win the league by 8 goals in the 94th minute of game 38
2014 League Cup 3-1 over Sunderland (losing 0-1 at half time)
2014 won the league by two points over Liverpool
2016 League Cup 1-1 (3-1 pens) over Liverpool

So you reckon that after we’ve won it in say four or five games we’ll play weakened teams and not win the last six or seven?

Don’t think 16 points from 33 is that stupid if we play weakened teams at some stage. Possible??

Spurs 0
Arsenal 1
Brighton 3
Hudds 3
Saints 1 - weak team
Rags 1
Chelsea 1
Swansea 3
Stoke 3
Everton 0
West Ham 0 - weak team

Cheers - just had a quick Google and was about to post something similar. Most sources agree on last home game but none of them mention a game squeezed in due to fixture congestion. Basically they say last home game not last scheduled home game.
The problem is that very few teams have won the Prem with more than one home fixture remaining.

Last home game in 14 when we won the league was Villa which was a rearranged match I think.

Last home game last season was West Brom a rearranged game.

I think if we get to semi finals of FA cup it is likely one of the rearranged games would be that week.

We have only lost once in 35 league games. I would think it’s highly unlikely.

Anything’s possible but I just can’t see us not winning 6 out of 11 when we’ve only not won 4 out of 27 so far.

I have just done a calc - think we will get 16 more points. 4 draws and 4 wins and 3 losses.

Think the rags will get 82 and Liverpool 85.
Serious question, we've drawn 3 and lost 1 in 27 ( plus only 1 other defeat in all competitions so far), so why are we only winning 4, drawing 4 and losing 3 from the next 11 league games ?

We're not.

I received an email from the club pushing hospitality sales and in it they stated ....”Huddersfield- Saturday 5th May (This is where we will lift the trophy if we win the league)”
But if we have a blip and it's not won by then, we'll have to wait until midweek (if there's a game) or Southampton.

Just discovered we already have enough points to have finished second the year Leicester won it. After 27 games! That really was a weird season.
4, 7 and 8 more points and we'd have enough to win 2 of the titles the rags won and one of Arsenal's -96/97(75),97/98(78),98/99(79). But of course pundits would tell you that this side isn't on a par with those teams despite them having a huge financial advantage over the rest of the league.

Read up on the rules today cos me mate keeps asking me.
The PL trophy presentation is done at the winning teams last home game if they have won the league guaranteed.
So Huddersfield home would be the game unless another home game is reaarranged after HTFC and before Soton away. Only way this would be is progress in the FA cup. Brighton home and Swansea home are scheduled for FA cup weekends so is a possibility.
