Wants to break 90 points this season and create another record that won't be broken for a long time a premiership side securing 90 plus points at 3 in 4 possible attempts.

Have the record points margin and this season would like to make it another 19 point margin so we occupy numbers 1 and 2.

Literally correct but I suggest FQ was alluding to the fact Pep continued to play strong line ups in that long after the title was won.

he continued to do so last season even though we had second place sealed for a number of games.

I agree with FQ he won't go for kids even after the title is ours which could well be sealed this weekend.

This record is a bit scouse, BUT... if we win the league this season we would have had the best domestic run of success over 4 season in the history of English football. League wins 3 and 1 second place and 5 domestic cups.

I was also just having a quick look at Peps record. After this season he will have managed for 12 seasons 8 League wins (hopefully 9 soon), 9 cups. Plus 2 CL. 20 major honours plus 2 to play for this season. At Utd Fergie got 25 in 26 years.

As a player he won 6 leagues and 1 Cup plus CL and Uefa cup plus Olympic gold medal. He's 50 for gods sake.

Pep is the greatest. Cough... and erm... I love him.

I agree whole heartedly with this set of stats and remember 5 of those seasons in a league that is widely recognised as the toughest to win in Europe at least where I believe he has all things considered done his best work to date.

I mean his record in the League Cup almost defies belief , we have caught Liverpool in that regard in a competition that lets face it sides outside the top 6 have the best chance to win in any given season as its history shows.

His record at City in the FA Cup is sensational all things considered.

In the Chumps League yes losses to Liverpool , Spurs and Lyon were disappointing however we are the only team in the premiership who has played in the competition each year he has been at the helm.

I think his five years can be best summed up though as to date he is the only single manager of a club in the premiership of all the clubs in the hunt for honours each year Klopp aside that can compete favourably each year on all four fronts.

Klopp has ditched the FA Cup and League Cup two domestic trophies that Liverpool through the 60's and beyond treasured each and every year they competed in them.

No doubt a manager that the managers of the world have the utmost respect of and like all great managers humble as well.

in Pep we will always trust.

I agree Longsight Europa will be a tease for them their best way to get back to Chumps if that rule stays in vogue and just for laughs its annulled the season they win it after finishing 5th in the league.
 
Would be nice to see rags throw it away on Sunday - removes any stress of having to win any remaining league game after Saturday - although Pep would insist we drive all the way to 92 points at end of May
 
The dippers will be going for the win, which will play into the rags hoof ball and chase tactic.

A boring 0-0 would be the best result so that Spuds (might) be able to leap frog them.

I assume Van Dijk simply being back will insure his prior form, and will magically improve the play of Trent "What Do You Call A Defender Who Can't Defend?" Alexander-Arnold, the creativity of a creativity-less midfield, wipe 7 years off of James Milner's age, add 100 points to Allison's "When should I leave my goalbox?" IQ, suddenly allow Firminho to find goal-scoring form, loosen John Henry's wallet, and stop Klopp from blaming grass, wind, referees, etc. for any hiccups?

Also -- as with "SAF" -- I think we should make it a rule that no opposition player -- especially rags and dippers -- is referred to in shorthand like "VVD". Maybe that's just me.

Nothing points towards Liverpool being as good as they were last year next season. Injuries wise, This season has been more in line with a typical season for them. last season was a freakish season, they had no injuries to key players at all, a few minor niggles occurred during easy periods in their schedule, it's far more likely they'll have more injury concerns next season than not. Klopp relies on about 13 players, so key injuries are going to impact him.

Their bench isn't good enough. And of those bench players, they all know they aren't playing unless there's injuries, that's maybe acceptable when they are winning things but with no titles there's going to be numerous players looking to leave, you could see all of keita, ox, shaqiri, origi and that Greek left back all wanting out, some of those cost a fortune and they'll never get decent money for them because they haven't played and the covid effect. This means Liverpool will likely have to spend more than they'll recoup just replacing the subs and to stand still. Then you've got wijnaldum that will need replacing plus milner and uncertainty over both gomez and VVD.

Their owners aren't going to splash the cash to cover that before we even get to them actually strengthening.

I believe this Liverpool side is done. Chelsea will be the threat in the next few years, Liverpool will be on United's level with Leicester.

That has been my thinking all along.

There is no way that Pep will play the kids or not try to win the remaining games.
