Football will be so disrupted, the season will be written off during March. The PL will deliberate long and hard and will award Liverpool 101 points to make it a record breaking season.

To be serious though... Who really gives a shit about this season? Most games are played at walking pace and players seem to be more interested in catching up with (and cuddling) their mates in opposing teams after the final whistle.

It's a farce.

I sort of thought this way as well. Been changing my mind with our improved form!

Last night’s game really did show how much our players are up for it though.

Liverpool can still get 101 and ourselves 98

I reckon we'll win the league with 89 as results are now starting to go back to normal

Jesus and Aguero are back to full fitness in a week and our defence is solid
Quoting another of my own posts as there is a poll now

I still believe we'll achieve 88/89 points, but to actually win the league 83 will be enough

I suspect 2nd place will finish with less than 80 points this season.

The only unknown is injuries and covid and the like.

We have had major disruptions to our campaign including postponing games as a result.

Our main striker hasn't played in effect all season to date.

Liverpool's slump is a surprise but they can recover.

I suspect Manure and Leicester will start to drop more points once Europe resumes.

if we can get all our main performers fit and firing for the last 3 months we have a good chance to win the title which didn't seem possible 2 months ago.

I think your last criteria is a big ask. We lost two first teamers in the last match. It just isn’t possible in a season of a game every 3 days to have all our main performers fit and firing. This is very much a squad season for us and everyone else, every position will have to rotate even our new beloved central defence partnership.

I do think we will win the title, but it will be a messy season with postponements, possibly another suspension, players out with injuries, COVID and just sheer exhaustion. I think we will see a lot more youth players than we have seen in a while (which is great news for Foden). Like I said it will be the same for all clubs but Pep is a genius and our squad and youth system is really strong and is that is why we will prevail.

just had a quick double check ? 20 games left 60 points available city can get 98 points ?

i did think early season that the points table will be a lot lower that the past 3 seasons. but i think city are in full gear again. even if we drop points 90 points must be our target from here. i don't really see liverpool or united or leicester getting 90 points the way there squads are right now but never say never

KDB missing will be a very big miss ? also big games coming up in feb so lets hope for a fast recovery and pray for the 4 weeks and not 6 weeks. but we have done it before without KDB and the fourmidables season and somebody will setup and make a name for himself (FODEN) i hope

Mid-high 80s will win the League this year, as it has been in the past (before City & Liverpool had these unbelievable back to back to back seasons!).

We have already had a great run (and long may it continue, but it won’t) and Liverpool are struggling and just blew up their long home run and appear to have lost a step. Meanwhile, while the media put the “Can OGS survive at United?” worm in the water, United have had this stealth run to the top and have been putting together, albeit a little inconsistently, a very strong run of games in the League by making themselves harder to beat.

The second half of the season is going to be very interesting, to the point that ANY CLUB who goes 3 games without a win (even if they draw!) drops back out of the Top 4!

Someone is going to have a run, and I hope ours continues, but statistics would suggest it’ll be someone else. If that’s the case, we just can’t have a period where we lose multiple games, esp against Top 6-8 teams!

From here, it’s not losing against our main rivals that is going to determine the League. If we don’t have get 3pts, we can’t allow them to do so. Losing to Fulham is actually a better result than losing to Liverpool or United or Spurs, etc!

I agree, and would add that, if u look at the fixtures, whilst February is tough, we have a very long easy-ish run in to the end of the season. Obviously we hope still to be involved in the cups, but, if we can stay around the top for another month, it's ours for the taking.

Exactly! That's why (annoying as it was at the time), drawing against the two red scums while we were still getting ourselves organized wasn't as bad as everyone seemed to think.

i still think 90 points must be our target and enough to win the title. united can get 97 if unbeaten ?? liverpool 91 leicester 95 spurs 93 everton 95. but the thing is we all still have play each other so points will be lost to others

i think nobody can lose 3 games from now on and win the title. so my judgement is based on that ? so if city lose 3 games from here on in the most points we could get is 89 points. maybe just about good enough but that's if them 3 losses are not vs the big 3 ?

I think 80 points will win the title so we probably need 12 or 13 wins and a few draws from 19 games. Well doable.

am never writing off liverpool ? its easy to think wow 7 points but we have turned around bigger gaps when it looks impossible so respect has to be shown ? united will be a major player in who wins the title and games vs liverpool and city. they will be key games at the time we play them so again we must not turn off and go back into our shell

90 points will be enough to win the title. i don't see liverpool getting 90 points from here on in ? they would have to win every game in the 19 left and that would be beating city united spurs everton ?

city can reach 98 points so we can lose 2 games and still be ahead of liverpool ? united still can 94 but that would be like mission impossible and die hard but together
