Maintain 10 point lead then win the Derby I will be happy it’s over

So you think the rags won’t get 26 points from there remaining 13 games?
I think on current form they will do well to achieve this
Just my option based on current form and watching how theses leagues pan out over the last 40 years

Not anything certain I agree
But based on the probabilities-highly likely

I still think what I have thought for the past few weeks, that the title is 'ours to lose', but that's not the same as saying we've won it. While its unlikely that we are going to drop a 10-point lead, its not beyond possibility nor is it beyond possibility that United or Leicester - they being the only possible contenders in my opinion - can make up a 10-point gap. So steady away, game by game and treat our opponents and the league with respect. When its won, its won.

I get what u mean ,and form can drop of a cliff
But even in those examples (evidence)u give u are talking about the final half dozen or so games ?where itchy bum time can kick in !

we have 13 games left and are not conceding a shot on goal never mind a goal

it’s done

by the time the final furlong will come into play we will be in the winners enclosure with a nice gin and tonic !
You're right that the 2 times we pipped Liverpool, their nervousness toward the end, did seem to be a factor. Along with our relentless winning every week. We were getting bigger and bigger in their rear-view mirror.

But I'd say that 2012 was more down to United's cockiness / some bookies already paying out on them / "Poor lil'l old City making a mess of it yet again" / "Not in my lifetime!", etc.

I suppose I'm just wanting to guard against over-confidence, and aware that leads can slip much faster than you think ... and then the team that was "nailed on to win it" suddenly feels all the pressure & panic.

That said, if any manager in the World can keep his players focused and relentless until the very end, it's Pep.

In fairness, they haven't averaged 2 PPG for the rest of the season. There is no reason to think that they are all of sudden going to vastly improve on what has gone before. They are not a good side, and I think somewhere between 25 and 30 points from their remaining games is a realistic number.

I think 5 wins for us, might be enough. 6 wins will probably be enough, and 7 wins is certain to be enough.

The pressure is all on United and Leicester and they have to play each other as well so only one of them will keep up the pace.

United will concede goals, they don’t control games neither. They will come unstuck in the coming weeks when they face better opposition than who they faced last night. The gap will get bigger, I hope we destroy them in two weeks time.

you won't last long on here, spouting common sense willy nilly. Behave yourself.

another game crossed off and 13 to go
4 very big games all won liverpool spurs everton arsenal . if you say united and Leicester had that run of 4 games they would be dropping points.

targets is 89 points and with 4 home games coming up next ? the derby is one of them and will be a key game to what the final total could be ? like people have said get the title won and then use the rest of the fixtures to rotate the squad and keep them fresh for the champions league and cup final

hate looking forward but city have a league cup final banked. a 10 point lead in the league. champions league game and a FA cup game. so there is much to play for and its in our own hands

I am more worried about Leicester than United as they have an easier run of games on paper of the top teams they only have to play us until May when the play United, Chelsea and Spurs. United still have away games against Chelsea, Spurs, Us, Leeds, Villa and Wolves can't see them getting anymore than 10 points from that. But if we just keep doing what we are doing then 7 wins from 13 games should be enough.

Leicester are more likely to struggle against weaker teams in my opinion. They are given the ball and teams sit in and that weakens their threat. With their injuries and the Europa league I can see it being too much for them to challenge. They'll do well to hang on to the top 4. Last season they fell away badly and I think they'll do the same but manage to stay in the CL places this time around.

United are our only threat and that's a weak one. They'll have to beat us to stand any chance and I think we owe them another lesson. Avoid defeat to them and we'll win it. Lose to them and we will probably still win it.

Going off their points per game, United and Leicester will finish on 74/75 points.

6 wins from here should be enough. Even the most cautious and pessimistic City fan should be very excited right now.

If we managed to not win the league from this position, it would be the biggest fuck up in footballing history.

We really need to take full advantage of this upcoming run of home games.

Correct, this is where we can box it off. We need to get these won. Nobody is seemingly factoring in the possibility of big games to come down the line if we progress next in both the Champions League and FA Cup.

We could have an FA semi-final against United or Chelsea, not to mention a double-header with someone like Bayern or Liverpool.

We’re 10 points clear with 13 games to play. I remember us turning around a 12 point gap with 8 games to play....

We need 10 wins and we will win the league regardless of any other result

The 3 games that will be tricky mostly are Man United, Leicester and Aston Villa. The rest I believe we can beat. But then again I might be wrong! 10 wins to win the league. Come on City!!!

The reality is that United/Leicester aren't as good as our league winning teams of recent years.

Since the start of December we've only conceded 4 Premier League goals.

Even if they improve their form and finish on (for argument's sake) 81 points. We'd still have to lose 6 games from our remaining 13.

If we draw 12 and win 1 game from now until the end of the league season, we'd finish on 74 points - which is what they're both forecasted to finish on.

If we replicated the form from our first 9 games (up until defeat at Spurs), we'd finish on 78/79 points.

The league is as good as done.
