We need 10 wins and we will win the league regardless of any other result

The 3 games that will be tricky mostly are Man United, Leicester and Aston Villa. The rest I believe we can beat. But then again I might be wrong! 10 wins to win the league. Come on City!!!
9 wins to win the league (as long as two of them are v Leicester and United).

;)

I think we'll get 90 but 75 will probably be enough to finish 1st.

We can forget it this year. Ole has said they are not giving it up! Or are we trying to work out how many points the rags need?

We’re 10 points clear with 13 games to play. I remember us turning around a 12 point gap with 8 games to play....
Its nothing like the same though.

In 11/12 we had to win our last 6 games on the bounce to get 89 points and win it on GD. We were a bloody good team, up against another good team in a proper title race.

In 13/14 we won our last 5 games to win it on the last day of the season with 86 points. Again, pipping another good opponent to the title.

89 and 86 points has you challenging for the title in most normal seasons. The points tallies that United and Leicester have...don't. Neither have won more than 4 games on the spin all season. For them to catch us would require them to do something results wise, they haven't achieved for god knows how long (in Leicesters case never?) and show no signs of doing (United 2 wins and Leicester 3 wins, out of last 5).

There is no title race, this season is far more like 17/18 than 11/12, 13/14 or 18/19. I said a couple of weeks ago that nobody other than City could win it, only City could lose it. As each game passes, it would require more and more of a collapse from City, which would be even more out-of-keeping with the norm, than the possibility of United or Leicester, all of a sudden winning 10 on the bounce.

The reality is that United/Leicester aren't as good as our league winning teams of recent years.

Since the start of December we've only conceded 4 Premier League goals.

Even if they improve their form and finish on (for argument's sake) 81 points. We'd still have to lose 6 games from our remaining 13.

If we draw 12 and win 1 game from now until the end of the league season, we'd finish on 74 points - which is what they're both forecasted to finish on.

If we replicated the form from our first 9 games (up until defeat at Spurs), we'd finish on 78/79 points.

The league is as good as done.

agreed. It's virtually impossible for any other team to win the league. Time to make an assault on the champs league and if that means losing or drawing a couple of league games then so be it

Can those losses and draws wait until after the Leicester game ? So none of us needs to worry about the wheels falling off ... 50+ years of supporting City, plus 10 of out of this world success, doesn’t mean some of us don’t worry about ‘typical City’ returning :O

Unlikely but not impossible. Leicester have an easier set of fixtures. They are perfectly capable of winning the next 4 fixtures (Arsenal H, Burnley A, Brighton A, Sheff U H). That would put them on 29 games, 61 points. By the time we meet them, we have 5 fixtures incl the Derby. Maybe we will drop some points, its possible. Then the game with them becomes pretty important as after playing us they have 5 more very winnable games. They have a tough last three against ManU, Chelsea, Spuds when it is likely they will all be in a battle for top 4.

Very unlikely, but Leicester are the more likely of the two challengers to put a little pressure on by going on a run. Their next 3 or 4 fixtures will tell us if they have the bollocks.

Not too sure about arse and brighton.

No easy games, in form West Ham at home now looks tougher than it did a month ago.

85 is 2 points a game with 13 points dropped, should be okay with that.

All top 3 teams have a high risk of losing points at the weekend, so could be a a different picture at 6.27pm on Sunday.

Home Games;- West Ham, Wolves, Rags, Saints, Leeds, Chelsea, Everton.
Away Games:- Fulham, Leicester, Villa, Palace, Newcastle, Brighton.

Those away matches, apart from Leicester, all look very winable. The home matches do not look too bad either though on paper harder than the away games. I think winning nine of those is very doable giving us a minimum of 86 points. That would leave Leicester and the Rags needing to win all their remaining fixtures which as they play each other in early May is a mathematical impossibility. We win both the matches against them and good night Vienna.

Timing is everything. Win through to the derby and then demolish them and there’s no way we lose it to them.

Leicester would need to win through until we get to them to have a chance. Leicester’s final 3 games are extremely difficult for them too.

ultimately if we lose it from here it would be catastrophic, but it is still too early to call it.

I think we’ll drop less than 5 points looking at those fixtures

The way I look at it. We have won 13 league games on the spin and opened up a 10 point lead
If I remember rightly we had a similar points total to utd at that point maybe a couple less
So for utd or Leicester to overcome 10 points it will mean utd winning 13 games and us having a run that utd have had
It's possible but highly unlikely

west ham (in the league )is all that matters, teams going on a long undefeated run can lose a lot of momentum after one defeat, lose 2 on the trot and its squeaky bum time, beat west ham , get the 3 points and hopefully utd and Leicester drop points , all this we wont lose so many, or the others wont win so many is rubbish, united can get 88 points 13 wins from 13 games, we need 89 , so 10 wins from 13 games at the moment , even after our long run that is a big ask for us.

it isn't done until its done.

If we beat both the rags and Leicester the job just got easier (they also have play each other on 11th May).
