hopefully 3 more points on Saturday , then sit back and hope Leicester and united drop points this weekend, also hopes for the weekend, wolves have a very tough trip to Newcastle

The good thing is if we win today it is irrelevant if Leicester or the Rags win.

it goes from being a 10 point gap with 13 games left to a minimum 10 point gap with 12 games left. they are both running out of games with a third of the season remaining.
Every win for us now is like gaining 4 points, against their 3 as they are no closer to us and have less games to play.

Not that it wouldn't be nice to see them both lose this weekend though :)

In my opinion a win today and the title is ours, i believe 2nd place this season won't get to 80 points, 79 will be enough in my opinion. a win today puts us on 62 points so 6 wins gets us there, we still have to play 6 of the teams in the bottom half of the league.

which imo could be the hardest games of the lot.

Are we essentially asking how many points will second place get? And hence 1 more wins the league.

United as current second place based on points rate gets them to 75 so assuming that carries on we’d need 76.
Thats 17 more points from 13 games.

As it happens I’d imagine we’ll carry on like we did in the 100 season and push 90+.

i.e. unless either United or Leicester or Chelsea win every game we’re pretty safe. Even if they do, it may not be enough.

I hate playing sides down at the bottom end of the table. Yes; they're where they are for a reason. That being, they're not very good. But they'll be scrapping for their lives and will arguably put up more of a fight than a team in a comfortable mid table position.

Don't think Arsenal will get anything off Leicester but Chelsea and Rags looks like will play a boring draw unless refrees get into the action themselves. So a 4 match lead tomorrow and we can close this should we beat Rags next weekend. Wolves in between a tricky fixture but they are not at their best so it shouldnt be very tough like it was today. 3 more home games and we should win them all

Going off Points Per Game so far:

City 90
Leicester 74
United 74
West Ham 65
Chelsea 65
Everton 63
Liverpool 60
Villa 59

So being on 62 points now, we’d need around 4 more wins to match what United and Leicester are likely to finish on.

We have 12 games left, and weirdly enough it is actually:

6 games against the top 10, and 6 games against the bottom 10.

Even if we lose ALL 6 games against the top 10, then win all 6 against the bottom 10, we get 78 points.

United and Leicester could still potentially match (or slightly better) that if they play a up a little from their standards so its not unfeasible we lose the league based on this.

But also if we play so poorly to only get 18/36 points in the next 12 games, we don't really deserve the league if we drop standards that much.

Our defense is just way too solid for me to see that happening, don't even remember the last time we conceded more than 1 goal against us.

This is why I'm not a fan of PPG for these models, on current trajectory disregarding early season form (which is long in the past) West Ham and Chelsea will finish a lot further than 5 points clear of the dippers.

Spurs away.

It didn't look solid today. We conceded probably more shots vs West Ham than against Liverpool and Everton combined. No control in midfield and no energy up front leaves us exposed and vulnerable. We will have to rotate to maintain our form which means we are likely to witness more performances like today's. Still, we will probably need just 5-6 wins to seal it, especially if we win against United and Leicester.
