Personally I think this all a big conspiracy so that City win the Premier League whilst the country is still in full lockdown, and we can't even do a Liverpool and set fire to all the Rag statues whilst wearing balaclavas and standing on Police vans.

The thing that sets Pep apart is that winning the league is not the incentive behind this run. It is just about having that hunger and desire to be the best and win every game regardless of who we play or what competition it is.

Pep will be making damn sure that even when its sewn up those levels don't drop. He will rotate 5 players here or there as he has done and expect the players to still fight for every single win.

We might want to see an academy 11 so that we are fresh for the CL but Pep will see the winning mentality as just as vital as fresh legs. I don't expect him to start resting players, that's just not him.

The title is done. I never thought I would say that before it was mathematically certain, but we don't have a challenger. Even if the rags were 2pts behind they'd be too limp to make a fight of it.
Which is why klopp will never truly be considered in the ‘world class’ bracket

Top managers want to win every game. GPC , wenger, maureen (years ago) all collected FA and league cups along the way. They still wanted to win every cup
Klopp throws the domestics

I sort of got that last season; the prize if winning the league was too great for his domestic focus to be elsewhere. By the time Liverpool were pretty much guaranteed the league they were out if the Cups, but he’s carried that MO on this season too.

Hes done it each season. He cant cope on all fronts.
true winners want the lot.

He has, but if were him, I’d have done exactly the same last season, and if that means I’m not a true winner, then I guess I’ll have to live with that!
when we beat Liverpool comfortably at home at the end of last season, message was crystal clear to the players and fans and was said by Pep & Raz in the post match comms - Next Season Starts Now! i remember thinking wow these players have been put on notice.

Isn't there now a tradition that you use fireworks to set fire to a famous local landmark if you win the Premier League. I am sure Mario will supply the fireworks, we just need a Bluemoon poll to decide the building :-)

The swamp.

Is it a choice thing tho? Could pep , by choice, throw a cup? I dont think so

Don’t for a minute think he threw it, but Pep certainly learned from his first season when he played a second string team in the League Cup away at the Swamp and we lost 1-0. He (deservedly) got a bit of stick about that as the Scum went on to win it that season. In effect, we gifted that shower of shite a trophy.
Since then he’s always played strong teams in the cups and the results speak for themselves

Pep's squad rotation is going to be interesting going forward. He'll have to weigh up resting key players so they're fresh for big games against slowing down the full team's momentum. I think there's a reason we fell far short of winning all four trophies in the Centurions season, yet got a lot closer in the treble year. The constant pressure meant players performing at their highest level.
