We have probably just enjoyed one of the best fortnights of our football supporting lives. Won one cup, got 2 away wins to set up being champions again, beaten a top team to get to the UCL final. A defeat of our second string should take nothing away from that. We will run out winners by 10 points.

Because from the end of November we went on a run of results pretty much unprecedented in English football. United were hardly awful themselves though during the corresponding period. p.26, w.16, d.9, l.1.
By contrast we’ve now lost 3 of our last 8 (and 4 of our last 10 if you chuck in the Carabao Cup Final and the FA Cup semi). On each of those 4 occasions, we’ve barely looked like scoring. I just don’t see the logic in titting around and placing our fortune into an ever diminishing number of games, when we could, and should, already have put the title to bed. All it needs is for Altrincham Anthony or Fatboy Mason to turn up at St James Park with a laughable red card and suddenly the pressure would be properly on.

You make some decent points there mate, but I honestly cannot remember the last time we lost four games straight (which we would have to do), not to mention they have to win all their remaining games and we are the team who are ten points clear, when the pressure is on this team has nearly always delivered.

The only comp we have what can be described as not delivering under pressure is the CL, and that has changed this season, it shouldn’t be under estimated what this team has achieved beating Dortmund and PSG and keeping their respective star players relatively quiet in both games, those games would of taken a lot of energy out of our strongest starting eleven and they had to be rested.

One more league win and win the CL and this season is up there with our very best.
