While they're planting speculation and setting us up for failure (in their eyes) for something that has never been achieved in the history of the premier league it also serves them another convenient purpose:

Sadly the chances are very slim. As pleased as I was about beating Swansea, I'm concerned that the FA Cup could derail our CL and PL chances. I do think we'll win the Cup but to win all four with the fixture pileup we now have would take something absolutely extraordinary.

If we only end up with the Caraboa cup , i would have still thoroughly enjoyed this season because we are playing some beautiful football with superb footballers,and as i didnt start to support City many years ago to reflect in the glory of winning trophies (and i am one of many who are only just acclimatising to our seasons not ending in January barring relegation fights) , it was my old fella who said he would wring my neck if i supported "that lot" :( :( , and thanks now to our benefactor Sheik Mansour its worked out just fine. Having witnessed the struggles for donkeys years , our current situation is manna from heaven , and every trophy is something to cherish ,you could ask any Rag about watching a struggling team and the dark times and they have'nt got a clue , we ain't glory hunters and never have been and that sums up our hardcore supporter base in a nutshell............... We are'nt really here.

Yes. What is the point in aiming for exact precision in an inexact science when we don't know who we might meet in the semis, finals etc.

I just took the probability of the three events off the top of my head to illustrate that the chances of the quadruple are still remote and whether you think the odds of the FA Cup are 40%, 50%, or 60% is neither here nor there when you have a factor of 0.20 in there.
