How much did it cost when you first started going?

Am only 32, £12 in the North stand at Main road.
And they sang in that north stand not like the Quiet one at the COM'S
 
Happy days I used to leave home with a fiver go in the Little Albert for a couple of pints leave there at about 5 to 3 we would run to the ground, pay to go in the Kippax get a programme and still have change it must have been around 1984 I guess....
 
1988 - Cost me nothing, uncle lifted me over the turnstyles of the kippax. this happened until i was about 9. It was when i remember paying myself, 1990, my first membership card in kippax. Season ticket year after. The steep steps at the north stand end used to scare the shit out of me as a kid.
 
first season ticket £16 in the kippax. we used to walk from piccadilly to save the 30p bus fare to buy half a bitter in the pheonix
 
Used to live near Stockports ground and it cost 25p to get in,so i got the 92 bus to Dickie Rd walked there and back for 24p (2p each way on bus and 20p to get in Maine Rd).I still wonder if i've done the right thing!!!
 
Can't remember that far back (circa '76), but I do still have my season ticket from the '80-'81 cup final season. North Stand, Adult, Block P. The princely sum of £40!

Looking at the final ticket reminded me how much i paid on the black market for my ticket,the exspensive price of ............................................£25,from a bloody Sunderland fan,would you believe it !!!

What you see is what I paid (£3.50p). Back in those ancient times, the club had a policy that , if you were a S/T holder, you were automatically entitled to a cup final ticket. There was a special form in the back of the book for that purpose. You just filled in the form and posted it to the club. No queueing; the ticket came in the post on a saturday morning 2 or 3 weeks before the final.
 
God knows, used to be free when they let me over the turnstile with my dad then he paid for me to go til I was working. Anyone remember the season ticket numbers at Maine Rd when it was a random number each game and you had to rip that page out? Happy days.
 
I used to pay 25p to stand on the Kippax, on the walk home to Burnage via Platt Fields a burger at the Canadian Charcoal, ...with chips, was 50p!! therefore match, and evening meal 75p!
