How much do you pay for a haircut?

Normally do it myself as it’s easy enough with the clippers and the fade guards, occasionally, if I want it really neat at the back I’ll go to the barbers, it’s about £8.

Saw a guy at one of the more expensive barbers the other day, was a 7 on the Norwood scale, getting it clipped to the bone, don’t get that personally.

Place charges $20, but sells discount cards every Christmas. This year they were $14.99 per cut, so I tip Milagros the $5 I save! If she was the owner, I wouldn’t buy the cards, but she’s just the manager for some guy, so I save money from him to give to her, as most people only tip $2-3.

I can check in for her online and get a countdown to when she’ll be ready for me. Walk in, sit down, walk out again in 20 minutes with the exact haircut I asked for without having to ask for it, as she’s been doing it for almost 20 yrs.

Quick chat to catch up with how her kids are doing and whether she’s been home to Central America recently and she’s always interested in where I’ve been and what I might have seen or done! It’s a monthly “date” I look forward to!

Oh, and she’s still trying to convince me I won’t be going bald for a good decade at least, so she’s a nice liar, too!

Bloody cards went from $11.99 to $14.99 this year, so I bought 2 yrs worth of hair cuts this time! ;-)

My local one has gone up to £16 and they’ve got worse. Loud music, McDonalds cups on the table, zero conversation. Cash only of course. Seems to be new people on all the time.

I paid £12 in East Manchester before the Huddersfield cup match which was fine. I’m not coming over just to get my hair done but I’d hold out if necessary. They were always great.

£14

Was thinking about this the other day, I’ve been going the same place for years it’s ran by two Kurdish brothers and their cousin, All three are great and all speak good English. They give free haircuts to people who are homeless etc. I can remember one Xmas it was just one of the brothers working on the run up to the Xmas holidays and the place was absolutely rammed and he must of been working god knows how many hours but still made sure he’d give everyone a haircut.
