How much have you spent on your mrs/other half for xmas?

About £50.

Anyone who measures their love/devotion to their other half in monetary terms is an arse.

Not a lot, maybe £60-80. We agreed to buy a new piece of furniture for Christmas, half each, so just a few things to open on the Day so it doesn't feel like a washout.

Did get her (and me too) tickets to see John Bishop though, she'll love that.

Could be one of the most contradictory posts ever?

I bet £50 is fuck all compared to most. It's a token gift in a way. I get annoyed at people who think they need to spend a fortune on their other half & their kids in a pathetic attempt to prove how much they love them or how good a spouse/parent they are.

Edit - Bluetonium said it well.
