So we've got £49 million to spend which i'm happy with,we were never going to carry on spending £100-£200 million a year.
My question is ,how much do people think we will bring in from sales ?

That 49m is only for players we sign and want to put on the A list for CL, it doesn't restrict our spending on players who are only going to play in prem league. If we wanted to blow 30m on Shaw and tell him he wouldn't be included in CL squad and that he has to nail down first choice left back in prem league for 2 years we can and UEFA can do fuck all about it.

If Barry goes to Everton we have an arrangent they pay us 2m
Sinclair we should be looking at 5m but suspect we will only get 2m
Richards ex England International, prime of his life we should get 6m
Guidetti papers suggesting we would get 7m
Pants not sure if at the end of contract but if he isn't 2m
Lescott nothing.

If my reckoning is correct anything between 15 - 20m for the above.

If we are selling Milner, Kolorov then that figure you can add another 30m.

Beside the fees though we are losing extremely high wage earners I think someone mooted about 400K a week which is 20m a year.

We have a great squad already and should only need to add to it so spending that sort of money shouldn't be necessary

Great post that, especially for the first reply.By the way I wasn't aware of that in the first paragraph,so many thanks.

This team has just won a domestic double. We will not need to spend £49m. It is all about keeping a stable current crop of players. Now that we have that, we can start to look at easing youth players such as Lopez, Huws and Rekik into the fold. Eventually Hiwula etc will integrated into the team. We can start looking at the academy for promising talent once we have a good core.

Not really how it works. Even the club with the best academy in the world, Barcelona, regularly signed players after unprecedented success. One of the rules of football, never stand still and keep adding proven quality to your squad (which we didn't do properly after we won the league and were a stale team the year after). Bayern did it last year with Gotze and Thiago.

City will spend the £49m, probably on Mangala and Fernando (+ Sagna on a free if United don't successfully hijack), then maybe add one other depending on sales. This also won't block Lopes' apparent promotion since none of these would block his path.

Chelsea, Arsenal and United will spend heavily this summer and the gap between us and Chelsea wasn't that big in the first place (they probably would have won the league with a great striker), so we'll also strengthen our squad to try and stay ahead of them.

I think we will definitely spend what we are entitled too, plus maybe also what we bring in.You have to strengthen good every year without fail,or risk a season like 2013.Every top team should be looking to push on and on.

Garcia around 10m
Richards around 8m
Barry maybe 2.5m
Pantillimon around 1m
Sinclair around 2m

So around 20m

Giving us around 70m net to spend (on CL A list)- similar amount to last summer if we choose to spend it all. But I was always under the impression that we would spend 50m net as my many "who would you sign?" posts would show

They will also need to decide on Guidetti, another out of contract in 2015. His value will have depreciated now (contract + injury + lack of time at Stoke), but there is a few million to be made if he is sold.
