How patriotic are you?

Wouldn't wish any injury on him,but at the same time, wouldn't lose no sleep if it happened. Can't imagine many rags we're the bothered when King Colin had his career cut short by one of their players.

I love City more than I hate the rags.

But (tin hat time) I'm one of those who's not overly arsed about England. It'd be nice to see them win the World Cup, but won't lose any sleep if they don't.

I hate the rags more than I like England, so in answer to the question, absolutely yes. That team rely far too heavily on him now, so I'd like him not to play for the rest of the season.

Speaking completely as a football fan over in the United States and hoping for the sport to become a "top" one over here.

To be truthful I wouldn't want an injury in front of the World Cup to him. For the game I would love us both to be at relatively full strength.

As a completely hypothetical situation if he were to be injured and we (the US) were to win; the mainstream media coverage for what it is on the World Cup over here would say, "Yes they won, but England was without Rooney, blah blah blah." He is a talent and a force. As much as I hate who he plays for in the league I can recognize that on the international level he is a (an ugly) face that raises the recognition of the game over here. He can miss every derby for the rest of my life, that would be amazing, but I would want him in that first game in South Africa.

i hate utd, but as its world cup year id have to say no

i only really follow england in major tournaments and only cheered against egypt when shauny scored, but there is something special about a world cup, so much so that if rooney slammed on in, for that 90mins i would forgive and forget he's a red,

once england are out (or have won?!?!) i'll carry on hating the fat little tw@t

There is only one 3 things in England that make me proud.

Dan my son
Hannah my daughter
and city my love

Take wooneys legs off for me, couldnt give a shit about international football or for that matter take the queen and let her retire to afghanistan.

Not Patriotic in the slightest!

Used to be patriotic, but been ground down over the years and these days, I can honestly say that we have nothing to be proud of and let the rest of the World shit all over us. My patriotism was usually expressed via the England team, so in the main, I really couldn't give a fuck about the World Cup, especially by comparison to how I feel about City - maybe I'd think differently if I didn't have to live here.

As for Rooney - I'd LOVE to see the scouse cnut pick up a bad one, especially if we can throw in a Gary Neville broken leg 'add on' and a dose of dysentry for Ferguson as a special Brucie Bonus - not because I think they are a threat to us, or because i'm jealous of them, but because I just don't like them.

I'm not patriotic at all and I put that down to the labour goverment which i've grown up with, bit by bit they are gradually destroying this country with all the political correctness, blame culture and the simple fact that immigrants seem to have more rights than the people who were born here!

There is also this English disease of celebrating mediocrity we seem to have! If someone finished 4th we celebrate it when we won the ashes people went crazy and they had open bus tours only for them to lose the next series by a whitewash! They didnt think i know lets carry on working hard and make sure we are the best in the world! We seem to compete with the saying "its the taking part that counts!". Its not, I don't play any sports at anywhere near the highest level but even if im playing against a mate in the park at tennis if I dont win im unbelievably pissed off about it! Thats the kind of attitude i'd like to see from our athletes!

Aside from that I hate the England football team, I hate Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Carrick, Lennon and Defoe which is most of the team!

Not everything the Daily Mail prints is true, you know! ;-)

I can never understand why people get worked up about nationality, it's just an accident of birth, nothing more. I'm happy enough to be British but it doesn't mean I'm automatically better than anyone else.

It does sound a bit Daily Mailish i'll admit but I am the opposite of that, I cant stand that paper! The nationality doesnt bother me, I couldnt care less where somebody is from the thing that DOES bother me is the fact that the hard working average person gets the worst deal! The rich get richer, they have all their loopholes, the poor get money for nothing and your average person who works 9 to 5, pays their taxes and does 45 years solid work gets nothing other than a large tax bill!

Throw the fact that you cant say or do anything now without being sued, called racist, homophobic, sexist etc...and it makes this country a joke!

i'd say more like a sun reader!!!!!!!!!!!!

i like to put him out for about 5-6weeks and he come back in time for the summer to help england by then the scum would be out of the title race by time he was back lol

Don't think your feelings on the state of the government or anything should affect how you feel about this country.

I have mates who have fought in Iraq,Afghan and i'm proud of them for fighting for us whether they should be there or not doesn't matter, they are there doing their job so i know when it comes to England i will support us no matter what. Whether this country is going down the shitter or not really is irrelevant when it comes to supporting your country.

If it was in your power to give rooney a ruptured medial ligament injury ruling him out for 12 months, would you take it even if it damaged our world cup chances???

No i wouldn't hurt him, nothing to do with football though. As in general i wouldn't hurt anyone else unless they've severaly pissed me off or hurt someone close to me.

Well said that man there!!!
