As bizarre as it sounds, I prefer our history thanks. Not as glorious but infinitely more interesting.
And we have beaten Milan more than they have beaten us in serious comps as well as Thomas Cook trophy!

How ironic would it be if it is our money that helps Milan survive in the summer.
I think that people bit exaggerate about the milan situation and saying that they don't have the cash to buy players !!
Milan has a "sugar dady" as they call him "berlousconi" the guy is felthy rich. Back in the 80's and earlly 90's he bought the biggest stars in the game just so the club would rise and win trophies and he himself said that he has two objectives in he's plans for milan:
1- to win as many european and world trophies as possible (he managed to that)
2- To make the club survive on its own resources.
since the late 90's and till now milan were totally depending on their own resources to survive. Berlousconi never paid from he's own pocket (in the last 10 years or so) which is IMO a smart move from the guy. I think that every club (that is owned by a wealthy company or indiviual) will reach the point that milan have reached now ( Including man city and chelsea probably in 20 or so years time ) not saying its a bad thing but its a natural step. Milan currently are not suffering financially but rather being carelfull with their balance sheets and trying to survive the current economic recetion.
But when they needed to spend they did spend on players like pato "22 mil", thiago silva and mattioni (brazilian fullback) " 25 mil " Ronaldinho " 20 mil ". With beckham they're trying to spend the least they can and that uncle fester "galiani" knows that beckham wants to stay so he's playing he's cards on that. Rather then spend 15 mil on beckham he can get him for much less coming this summer, so why overspend on a player that the team don't necessary need ?!.
Milan do have the money but they're playing cheap which helped them with the ronaldinho's saga in the summer and they're trying to do that again with beckham. It's all games and both galiani and berlousconi have alot of experience when it comes to getting players believe me.
