Possibly
People will go mad once The Green Light is given
maybe ten per pub first week? Gradual ramp up.
Are you madWhen pubs reopen so will many businesses and schools .
If it is on a monday then most won't even be thinking about the pub as a first priority, and many after weeks of chilling out will be tored after a full dats grat and jolust go home.
Pubs won't be hammered in my opinion any more than normal
Are you mad
Sadly, I think pubs will be last on the list of places reopened.
True, but I was looking at it from the point of view of those who's livelihoods depend on being open.Thankfully rather than sadly in my humble opinion. Too many people can't follow instruction when sober even less when half cut.
I will definitely be boycotting them. Really hope social media could play a part in people to do the same - unfortunately the lure of a £2 pint is a tough ask to avoid for many.
To be fair, my initial thought was as soon as humanly possible where can I fly to to get some sun without the kids (to go to the pub..........) ;-)Are you mad
The Carling and Fosters pumps will pass that test easily3 of my locals have had the coppers in. They check every pump and it must have water coming through.
Microwaved and frozen food is what happens across just about every single chain in the country. Whitbread. Greene king. J.W Lees. Spoons. M and B. Joey Holt. I could go on. They all do it and all make a shit tonne of money in the process.
You’d catch me in The Halfway House and The Grove near City often and neither did food. Ditto The Buxton further down.
Yet another race to the bottom like app cabs and pound shops. I’d pay for a bit of quality.
The PLCs, have in a roundabout way, saved some of the pub/restaurant industry. A lot of independents are run by people who don’t know the first thing about running a business like it. Many come from different backgrounds and see it as a retirement. The work involved in running a pub is phenomenal, you have to live and breath it. Many went to the wall as a consequence of just generally shit leadership. So I’ll give the big chains some kudos for investing in the industry to the extent they do.
An Irish guy ran my local for years and the place was an absolute pleasure. He sadly moved on and a company bought it. They appointed a clueless bitch who decimated it in months.
On the first night, the grand opening, at 7.30pm she ran out of all draught lager. I remember telling the gaffer in my Holts’ local after I’d moved and he burst out laughing.
Unfortunately the human element will always be there.
And of course exceptions occur.
I'm sure your Irish fella was a seasoned landlord, which wasnt the point I was making ;-)
