How to use live football streams

TVants is reliable and decent picture but hogs your connection, the best of both worlds for me is PPMate - reliable, best picture quality and doesn't hog your connection.

Beware of TVants, there is a Trojan in it, AVG picked it up on my PC yesterday

I ve just done a bit of reading on another forum, a few people have seen this recently with AVG, it's thought to be the part of TVAnts that opens a couple of IE pop-ups when you first start (some) channels and it only seems to happen with AVG. I've been using TVAnts for about 2 years with no problems and providing you downloaded it from a good source you should be ok, if your not convinced remove it and do a full system scan then scan again in about a week (assuming AVG has done a few updates in that time).

Another tip if you have XP SP2 (applies to most people):

In PPMate goto Tools menu and click 'XP TCP Patch', set the limit to at least 50 (I set 256 myself), click Apply (it patches a system file so windows may give you a warning message), then reboot your PC.
You should now have more success with any/all P2P streaming TV software as well as probably torrents if you use them.

If you want to use tvants from the uk (and possibly other countries) this season you'll need to have the latest version (1.0.0.59) and tell it to use a proxy:

Pick one of these proxy servers (probably best with lower latency ones).

Open TVAnts main program (you may need to double click the little icon in the bottom right corner of your screen)

Click Tools>Settings>Proxy>Add
Type the IP address of your chosen proxy from the above link into the 'Host' box and port number into the 'Port' box, click OK. (no harm in adding 2 or three different proxies from the list).

Exit TVAnts, restart it by clicking Guangdong Sports

Bobs yer uncle, you should be watching a high quality stream ready for tonights game.

Everybody in the worid probably knows this but as i'm a technical fuckwit it came as a very pleasant surprise to me.
Watched the game today on my TV through my PS3.
No faffing about installing stuff I haven't got a clue about, just typed (myp2p) into the internet search thingy, found the game and hey presto, Robert is your aunties live in lover.
No more crowding round the computer monitor for the LuvChild family.
