How would season ticket holders react to compulsory CL home tickets?

We don't need to go down the compulsory purchase route. Our Champs League crowds are increasing and in time we will have more sold out games!

Does the difference between Arsenal and Utd's schemes make a difference?

I think Utd's requires you to buy them extra.
Arsenal's is such that the ST includes the first 7 home cup game tickets, any cup including Europe. (so that could be Barcelona and Real Madrid in Europe, as easily as it could be Fleetwood and York)

Arsenal is the first 3 domestic cup games included.

I'd welcome it if it was £15-20 on top per game. No matter what you think about CL its important to reach advanced rounds of the competition to attract more lucrative sponsorships & attract world class players to our club.

Any City fan calling it the "Chumps League" in this day and age should be given a ban from Bluemoon and the stadium and whipped with a holly bush in City Square.

It's the most prestigious football tournament in the world competed for by the best teams in the world. The only "chumps" are the ones who dismiss it.
I'm dismissing it - so another 'chump' here. Bring on the holly bush.
Please do not force people to purchase tickets - it works perfectly well as it is, with the Cup schemes. UEFA have shafted us and every other nonG14 club. Everything UEFA and FIFA do, absolutely stinks. Forgive me if I don't get too excited about UEFA's showpiece competition.

Pop £50 on a season ticket. Include group games at home. 3 more games for £50. Or at least offer a package on top of the season tickets.

Or dues to rising TV income. Add first home tie.

Depends on the figures.

Sounds like you always have excuses not to go. Yesterday you were saying you don't go to the lesser league games either ;)

And if we're talking about shafting then you might want to stop going to the big league games as well considering the decisions which have gone against us! :)

I can only speak for myself (obviously). Given as how I don't live in the UK and I have this irritating distraction called a job, I absolutely cannot get to midweek matches. I would love to, and I spent a day doing mental acrobatics working out how I could get myself covered to get to the Kiev match, but it just can't be done. Now I can well imagine that there are few people in my boat, but there are clearly plenty of people in the Etihad on any given match day who've travelled considerable distances from within the UK to get there. They must be ruled out, I suppose, for most midweek matches. So, personally, I'd resent it. Or rather, I'd see it as a price hike on my seasoncard that I can ill afford.

I'd give my ticket up they are already slowly getting rid of the fans who stuck with us through the bad years like myself it's all about foriegn fans and corporate now!

like others, i'm on all the cup schemes, but I feel the club would lose a lot of supporters if they did make it compulsory, its peoples choice to go to cup games for several reasons, cost, travel and not particularly being fond of the champs league, I think the club would be shooting itself in the foot if they took peoples choice away.

Wrong, just wrong. Fans who show commitment by purchasing a season ticket shouldn't then be burdened with more financial hardship. If the team do the business, then the fans will turn, if they don't then they deserve to play in front of a half full stadium.

Whilst I agree with some points on here, I don't agree that we are being screwed over for "foreign fans and corporates".
Yes, there is an element of the club tapping into this market and I certainly don't agree with giving scarce away tickets to corporates, but I have now got a season ticket for less than I paid in the first season at the new stadium. Champions league and other cup games are reasonably priced and I really can't understand the idea that £30 is too expensive for the Kiev game.
In my opinion, and I'm sure loads will disagree, I think turning our backs on the Champions league and having thousands of empty seats makes us look small time. We've conquered every domestic competition and we now need to move on to the next step and establish ourselves as one of the top teams in Europe. We can only do that by winning in the Champions League.
Back on topic, I don't agree with making people buy Champs League but a great move by the club would be to freeze season ticket prices and throw in the group stage Champions League games (if we qualify).

I've not missed a CL (or EL) home game since we got back into europe, I've made sure my shifts have allowed me to attend every one, and I'll continue to do that, but I'd be very annoyed if it was made compulsory to buy the tickets, as it should be MY choice, not the clubs.

It wouldn't bother me as I pay for all of the cup schemes anyway.

It would cause big trouble for others though so the reaction would not be pretty

Arsenal is the first 3 domestic cup games included.

No, it's 7. However, it may not count all UEFA matches.

"The Season Ticket shall admit the Ticket Holder to the following matches played by the Club’s men’s first team during the Season at the Emirates Stadium:
(A) the nineteen home matches in the Premier League; and
(B) the first seven Relevant Cup Matches played during the Season."

Also, obviously, there may be less than 7 cup games a season.

Arsenal is the first 3 domestic cup games included.
It isn't. It's the first 7 domestic and European cup games. They then offer a refund if there is less than 7. The seventh of those matches was the home game against Barca so probably quite a few supporters were quite pleased with that. Then typical greedy bastard football club then reverted to type and have charged £18-30 extra to be added to next years season ticket price, dependent on where they sit. Arsenal then got battered by their fans once again and decided not to charge the extra "on this occasion", the magnanimous nature of this gesture should never be overestimated!

I've not enjoyed the CL, City kick me out of my seat anyway and i've thought about sacking it off a few times and think i will be next season if my SC increases in price again.

So i wouldn't be entirely happy. If i could guarantee my seat and fuck these away fans off who've been sitting there for the last three seasons, it might soften the blow.

Club aren't in a position to do this and they know it. For what it's worth I'll probably join the CL cup scheme this year when I haven't bothered for a couple of years, so I wouldn't be too ared if they were to make CL compulsory this season, but that could and probably would change in the future for various reasons

I don't go to any European games.
Can't be arsed with uefa corrupt bastards.
If the tickets were compulsory I just would renew.
Simples.
