How You Became A Blue!

It was september 1989 and my first day at big school. I met my new form teacher and took an instant dislike to him.He was a big rag so when he asked us all what team we supported I said city to piss him off(I was actually a Burnley fan at the time) I then got a city shirt to wear on non uniform day and before I knew it I was going to Maine Road and loving it!

I then converted my little brother (who was a rag) to city a few years later and now the whole family are city fans.

Job done.

When i was 4 years old (1971),my dad sat me down and said "you have two choices son,City or Utd. If you choose City, i'll take you to every home game, but if you choose Utd, i'll pull your teeth out with a pair of pliers !" So after 38 years of suffering i'm still here !.......on the bright side, i've still got all me teeth ! lol

My dad grew up a blue in a red family in Wythenshawe. As a 6 year old I was leaning towards the red side because all my mates were red, but he wouldn't let that mistake happen and he took me to my first game, 24th November 1999 against Barnsley at Maine Road. We won 3-1, with Horlock, Gareth Taylor and the Goat scoring. Before the match he got me my first City shirt with Goater on the back, and I never looked back.

Same here mate all my friends at school were rags and I was leaning that way. My mum and grandad took me to Maine Rd, during the dark days and I remember seeing the fan running onto the pitch and ripping up his season ticket. And the thousands of people outside screaming for Lee out!

Strangely after that I never stopped supporting the blues, and I guess the reason looking back was us, the fans. The passion even when we were in division 2 was remarkable. And I wouldn't change my club for heaven or earth!

Hard to sum it up but as has been said already I dont think you "Become" a blue or even chose them. I think the blues chose you and thats the way you are born, thats the way you will die. My 5 year old is city through and through not becuase of me (family all bin dippers, his mum a rag, my other half a rag, just me and my old man are blues) he was born that way. My grandad always tries to sway him to Liverpool but he wont budge, it's "City till I die daddy" all the way, god he makes me proud! Bring on Notlob.

My Mum (rag) and all her family are united crazy, her father was a close freind of Matt Busby and the whole family went to all United games and parties/meals with the players.
My Dad (rag) is a close freind of Schmeichel and Bruce and all his family are United fans
When I was about 7 I had United shirts, all my freinds were united fans, and United just won the treble.
One day I was at my local park and saw city fans jumping around and screaming after promotion and I was interested because I didn't even know who City were. I went up and asked some of them what happend and they converted me. I've been a crazy blue ever since and made all 6 of my brothers and sisters to!

not my fault! said:
