I'd almost erased him from my memory. I do remember that pitiful miss in the 'Brightwell Derby', however.

To be fair he sorted the team out that first season when "relegation" threatened. I remember him dropping Bishop and putting Megson into the heart of midfield. Plus he bought Ward. I went to Villa away game where we secure our survival I think Peter Reid scored, I think we won 2-1. Then we had a mini rebirth with him and Reid 5th, 5th and 9th. Then well the rest is history!!

Always remember the day he left us. Not long married, got our first decent t.v., sony trinitron.

Tuning it in and a picture came up of our manager, Howard Kendall. It was the six o'clock news saying he'd gone back to Everton. Gutted.

Had one of those mothers too, heavy as fuck, cracking picture tho.
