I know, a seemingly random question, but can he speak decent English?

Fab Cab manages with only pigeon, but he is definitely the exception. Being able to communicate well with the players and the media is usually quite important...

Oh yes it's Pidgin isn't it. Ironic really that a 48 year old English person - i.e. me - can't even spell it correctly in a post asking about Mancini's English. How embarrassing.

He doesn't apparently according to reports as he has been 'booked in' for his English classes.......which is nice!

He did some interviews with Radio Leicester in pidgin English when he went there, according to a non-WUM friend of mine.

I shall enquire with my Leicester friend to see if he could or whether it was the usual '2 beers please' and 'over the moon' or something a bit more exotic? :-) Well as exotic as you can get in Leicester.

If it's true he's mates with Khaldoon, then he must speak passable English. I assume he doesn't speak Arabic and that Khaldoon doesn't speak Italian.

Moreover, despite reports that Mancini has recently been taking English lessons, Chelsea and Sunderland were previously concerned about his inability to speak the language when he made brief appearances on their managerial shortlists. The former Italy striker has experience of English football as a player, from a brief spell on loan at then Premier League Leicester City in 2001.
