- We went to Rotherham…
Some people would still have us using steam with a man and a reg flag in front.
it truly is a waste of money
It would be far better if it were invested into local routes
All the data shows that where high speed rail has been introduced (such as France) it has very little benefit to the poorer areas.
One fucking dickhead Councillor from Leeds was on radio yesterday saying Burberry had moved a manufacturing plant to Leeds because of HS2 !!
Somehow I doubt they'll be packing their newly manufactured coats and hats into containers and loading them onto HS2 to be distributed across the country
There are some good articles and arguments on this site

Would it be cynical to suggest that it will go ahead in order to provide Tory-donating construction companies with a reasonably stout order book? Would all the materials be 'home-made' or would we do the usual thing and take up the Johnny Foreigner cheaper tender?
Like Wythenshawe ?Currently pissing myself at all the NIMBY wankers in nw London and the chalfonts that think this should be ruining poor peoples villages instead.
