Huddersfield v City post match

Glad we've stuck two fingers up at the F.A and got ourselves a home tie in the FA cup :)

Aye, usual bollocks from the media. Maybe if the FArce and PL supported clubs that are still in Europe like other Leagues we might field stronger teams.

I'll respectfully have to disagree. I think it's almost impossible to have adult conversation about Silva, Aguero, Zaba, Kompany, Hart, etc on Bluemoon. Too many people see them as sacred shrines never to be criticised, only to be worshipped.

Its a forum you have a right too :-).

For me I just look back at Agueros time here and he has always needed a few games to get back to his sharpest and like all players suffers dips in form.

Instead of that being considered a factor people, in my opinion, are to quick to question his character particularly as he has not caused one problem at the club in all the years he has been here.

Kolo and Dzeko were part of the 2012 group too.

Utter, pathetic bollocks.

Silva, Aguero, Hart, Zab and Kompany have taken shit on this forum and most still do on a weekly basis.

An "adult conversation" isn't scapegoating the unfashionable players at every opportunity.

I respectfully disagree. When you say those players have "taken shit" i'm presuming what you mean is they have been criticised, which they have. It's the reactions to those criticism, as per your "utter, pathetic bollocks" comment which shows that there's an inability by some to have a grown up conversation about those players when they do perform badly.

He was decent 2nd half because he tried to be, most of the time wheras he didn't try very hard for most of the first half imo

If only he hadn't got his deckchair back out when Navas put that ball across the six yard box, we'd be through now.

Serge has lost, one, two yards of pace & will either run a lot harder & find a new way to be as good as he was, or go imo.

And if he goes to a top team, he will have to run a lot harder there, to be fully effective.

He isn't quick enough anymore to stroll then sprint.

Kun is barely match fit.

There were three occasions yesterday when we were effectively down to 10 men when he was down on his haunches getting his breath back and this has been happening increasingly for the last 18 months !

He is also getting like Carlitos in deciding who is worthy to receive his passes. He twice blanked Nolito in the second half when an early pass into space would've put Nolito in a good position. Then when Navas put his only cross of the match into the six yard box Kun was 10 yards away.

He has not been in elite condition for 2 years now & he seems to know it,it's affecting his mentality, self esteem & confidence, which in turn is affecting his form & performances.

He's not won the awards his previous performances deserved, dropped by Argentina, questioned by Pep,new kids on the block. There are some big challenges now for Kun for the first time in 6 years. I hope he's got the character, personality & mental strength to rise to the challenge cos we're going to need the 'old' Kun back if we are to win anything this season.

Most of our opportunities came through Aguero dropping back picking the ball up and trying to make something happen, I feel Aguero now is in 2 minds when in front of goal pass or should I shoot! For me if he has a chance to shoot he should shoot if not pass it wide and get in the box. He needs to keep it simple.

It was a less creative side but still should have been more than enough to create and dictate the game. Most teams in the Premiership play with two holding midfielders in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The failure was Nolito, Fernandiniho, Navas and Aguero. But yes no doubt Silva, Kdb would have helped but you can understand Peps reasoning why they did not play.

Silva and Yaya, in particular, were having well earned rests; however, it remains the case that if you take both of them out of the side our cohesion in possession drops. Leaving the unavailable Gundogan and Nasri aside, Yaya and Silva are still the two best passers of the ball when you take all aspects into account.

Respectfully, the "utter bollocks" was entirely about your point of view that the players aren't allowed to be criticised. Which, by your own admission, they are. You'll find plenty of examples of people analysing our games and players performances.

Criticism is vital. Aimless finger pointing and lazy cliches aren't.

I think the bit about "almost impossible" were badly chosen words. If you remove those words both of you make valid points. Fans of a certain age remember winning nothing for 35 years or not winning a title for 44, so when after numerous false dawns a collection of board/manager/player members work together to smash these monkeys off our backs and rip down that disgraceful banner at the swamp they will forever remain loved city heroes. Nothing will change that and nor should it, so of course it will harder to criticise any of said individuals than say Bravo or Navas for instance. But criticise them we do and we should when performances are not good enough.

I think I'll go for the theory put forward by my Huddersfield supporting mate in that.
1. Huddersfield have " Bigger Fish" to fry and promotion is more important to the club financially.
2. City play Monaco on Tuesday and also had "Bigger Fish"to fry.
3. City actually wanted a draw. A win would possibly have resulted an unwanted Derby game without a fit Jesus.
The result was two second strings delivering the game we saw.
