Club is going to wreck and ruin I tell you!!!After years of complaint about the old one, I was told by a fellow supporter the have put in a new system which is even louder than the old one DOH.
I think McLean is great. Some thin skinned people if you think he's really taking the piss or being crude. Must have been watching the Generation Game from behind the sofa.
.
Mikes a big blue and a top lad. I'm sure he's not arsed that a few soft arses think he's crude.
Dont think he's particularly crude, hes occassionally funny. But mostly I just think he's annoying and sometimes pretty thoughtless and unkind.Mikes a big blue and a top lad. I'm sure he's not arsed that a few soft arses think he's crude.
I have no beef with Ferris at all. The club clearly want a clean cut professional BBC like approach and that shows given his work for 5 Live. We then have the likes of Wingman, McLean, Natalie Pike and Danny to add some passion and fun to proceedings. Whether you like what they do or not that's the way it's gone and it isn't gonna change anytime soon. Ferris kind off moulds it all together and asks the right questions when they analyse the game afterwards. Don't see a problem at all.
thoughtless and unkind.
Cant see what being a big blue or top lad has to do with making cringeworthy references to a lad losing his dad in front 40-50,000 people, whilst trying to derive cheap laughs from the crowd at the same time. Can't see it.Mikes a big blue and a top lad. I'm sure he's not arsed that a few soft arses think he's crude.
Comes to something when the personality bypass of Ferris is all we've got to moan about

Along the lines of so and so could not come to a game with his dad because his dad died when he was ( age). Silence as lad did not really want to talk or dwell on that in front of 50,000 people. Then again along the lines of "However, he is here today with his mum". Jim fuckin Bowen style. Then along the lines and again Jim Bowen style. He couldnt be here with his dad but he is here with his mum. ( Cracking consolation) Then Alan Partridge style along the lines of "Go on go on hug your mum". This was said a few times as the lad was clearly embrassed. Then I switched off as crass car crash attempt at comedy ain't my thing, particularly when the death of a father serves as backdrop to both the interview and a banal attempt to entertain. It was fucking horrible to watch and hear.Care to share the cringeworthy references about him losing his Dad. Watched the whole interview and I didn't pickup on it, however I'm not easily offended by some light humour.

As most people who have lost a loved one, most not all but most I think would know how that lad was feeling and would acknowledge that it was not the time nor the place in front of 50,000 fans to even touch on that stuff never mind start trying to crack jokes or entertain people within the same discussion. As I've said Chubby brown would have shown more sensitivity and probably been funnier.

TrueJust forwarded this to my mate who I sit next to in the ground as a sanity check. Funny how 2 people can witness the same event and interrupt it completely differently.
Each to there own.
Unlike some others you obviously don't list "taking offence" as a hobby on your CV. For some it seems to be a vocation.
Exactly!Theres no need for any of it. More often than not we’ve watched the highest quality football any of us have seen in our lives. So just put some music on and the highlights on the screen and let us chat about the game. Its all pointlessly cringe
Exactly!
If all the pre-match, half time, post-match bollocks with the eighteen presenters was just all scrapped, not one of us would bat an eyelid.
It’s the same with all the flag wavers and banner holders on the pitch... get rid of them, they even have a co-ordinator with a headset/mic on telling them where to stand...
Get rid of it all!
The match day experience will not be impacted, in fact would be less annoying without it all.
We don’t need all the big screen presenting, just bang some old goals on.
We don’t need needless chats to random minor celebrities, just stick some Manchester tunes on.
We don’t need all the flag wavers on the pitch, all flags and banners should be fan made and fan waved only in the stands, as soon as the club get involved it loses its credibility and is just cheesy.
We don’t need pyrotechnics for the same reason.
It’s all fat to ‘try-hard’!
I go to the match for the football. If I can see some old goals and hear some decent Manchester tunes then that goes well with the experience of the day. That’s all that’s needed at the game.
Plus getting rid of all that shite might give them a good reason not to keep increasing our SC prices.
