Lets kill time with the fantasy football chat later. Maybe we can fit in another round of selective quotations from other people's posts.Cya buddy.
so it is past your bed time. no worries. I am not surprised that you avoided the question. taking your position of being anti-Hughes is difficult when people ask what you would do differently when you claim he will change what worked tonight (without giving a reason). I personally do not blame you, it is easy to get swept away with emotions. pm me someday when you have an answer or have any feelings about foreigners that you do not feel appropriate to air in front of the bluemoon community.

The pertinent question is what can Hughes himself change in order to ensure that there are more regular repeat performances of that quality. I did not claim to have any prescient knowledge of Hughes' choices. Again, you have been quoting another poster.
I feel fine about foreigners and their enthusiasm for debating English soccer. The more, the merrier. Thankyou and goodnight.

Hughes had his tactics set aside tonight and it showed, because this team was forced on him by injuries, and without Bellamy there was no need of the quick over the top ball, giving our creative players time to do their thing.

Elano played where he should be, freeing up SWP and Ireland to go forward and create space, Caicido was being given passes to him, not in the air, and so held up the ball well and allowed the movment off the ball that gave us so many chances.

Ireland and SWP spent a damm sight less time in our own half looking for the ball than what has been the norm, Elano was the perfect link up with the defence, carrying the ball out and using it to go forwards.

All positives that will be changed by Hughes first chance he gets...............I still want him gone

spot on I wrote a similar post on another site.
So like I said, great result and lets take all the positives out of it and the good feeling and see what MH does when he has all his options open to hime.
I believe that he would not have picked last nights team and played those tactics if he had all his options open to him, which frightens me.

We have won 5 drew 2 and lost 3 since the beginning of January (including UEFA cup). The club is becoming more consistent. Now, do not get me wrong. I wish we would be beating the lower level teams that we should be defeating, but surely you must see more consistency than last year when Sven could not buy a win after January. Maybe you have higher sights for this year, but after all my years of following City I think we are doing much better and I believe we will benefit from stability. We are in the final 16 of UEFA and we are battling for a spot in Europe next year. What did you expect from this year? I'll admit I was disappointed with being knocked out of the cups, but the team was still getting to know each other.
I am sure you will come back on here with some veiled xenophobic shot at me, and that only lowers your already weak arguments, but please explain what part of the post you the below post you agreed with. You say I have been quoting someone else, so please correct me.

Agreed. Thought he was accepting the manager of the month award in the post match interview.

I have assumed, apparently erroneously, that you agreed with the prior posters comments about team selection or that Hughes will change all the positives, but you have said that is incorrect, so what were you agreeing with?

so you agree. Would you have played that team (the team against Villa) the exact same if Bellamy and Robinho had not injured? Would you have had Ireland on the left, Elano center and SWP on the right and have left Robbie and Bellamy on the bench? You say it is frightening, but to me leaving our top scorer and our most on form player out of the team if not injured is frightening.

Agreed that we are becoming more consistent. Agree that post xmas under Sven we were awful however they may have been politics and influences to which we are not privy to that had a direct effect.

Reflecting on the season so far, we are 8th in the EPL and in the last 16 of the UEFA. Our squad has great depth and is full of quality. Let us not forget that we have not had the services of Petrov this season who was such an influential player for us last season. At times our football has been excellent. We have let ourselves down away from home and certainly against lesser opposition but I for one more than happy with life as a blue at the minute. We have Robhino & Shaun Wright Philips is back with. Life is good!

Agreed & cheers! I am glad that I am not the only one who is happy as a blue right now.
