Hughes is here for the long haul

yet another thing I begrudge hughes... I amongst many others supported him when he got rid of Elano, who, despite everything, was a considerable creative talent. can't for the life of me imagine why he didn't replace him.... except that I think he had his eyes on Bentley, who who is far less talented and comes with just as much baggage. yet even that deal meant that he was prepared to lose Petrov as well, and he's been very very good again this year.

simple fact is barry, petrov and ireland are the only ones who can pass the ball in the team. the rest are way below the average for top 4 teams. that really sums up the hughes approach to football.

City fans turning on City fans....my mum would turn in her grave..

no need for insults and name calling...none at all.. take your frustration out on the players or manager please...we the fans have no say whatsoever in the running of the club...but the club wouldnt run without us..

Frustrating times indeedy.

Hull at home is not rocket science!
they are at best a one man side in terms of quality ie Bullard
hughes decided the tactics that allowed him a free hand to run the game !

he could have used Kompany to mark bullard and Hull would have been neutered we would then have won however hughes once again proved he is one dimensional as a manager and that I am affraid is not enough for a side that should be very very near the top of the table.

the very best managers would have this club with the resorces hughes has had pushing chelsea!!!
if not more

I'm sure Elano would be very offended that you are saying he has as much baggage as Bentley and rightly so!

Well said that man. I agree with this 100%

We've got a F1 Ferrari in the F1 championship with James May at the wheel. It's embarrassing how badly we are doing.

I'm a season ticket holder who goes to most of the away games,i'm just stating this because i think i'm reasonably well positioned to make valuation about how we're progressing as a club. This is the first time i've ever voiced my opinion on one of these sites, I'm just replying to what the city fan stated about how we could have had any manager out there for the second half and he wouldn't have been able to do anything with this team, It's a fair comment but all this mess didn't really start today at 1600, It all began last August when Hughes took over, we've played well four times in the league this season, first half against the rags we played well against villa for almost a whole half also Arsenal and Liverpool And this isn't down to tactical genius on the managers behalf, but in my humble opinion down to two factors 1, The quality we've ot out on the pitch. 2,the opposition forcing us to play a style that suits gifted players.

I looked at the team today and it wouldn't have mattered who we could have playing up front or in the middle of the park come the January window. The system we were playing today isn't suited to top four club from any league or division in the world. It's designed to accommodate the style of play for a middle to bottom to third club. Teams cautious in their lack of own ability but not a club confident in it's ability to progress. We pack the midfield and play a really congested configuration at the back, Nigel practically plays as a fifth defender, and in the end our pro active players end up taking the ball off our back four, five so it becomes really difficult for our creative midfielders to weave their magic and mega simple for the opposition to keep the ball in the middle of the park. The only time we play well is when we play against quality and they force us to open up, that then gives barry , Ireland and our other WORLD class players the space they need to be creative.

Hughes is a pragmatist and sticks to systems and formulas he knows will work, tried and tested from his own portfolio He needs either to be brave and fully use the talent and quality he has at his disposal or let somebody else do it for us.

Sorry for being so matter of fact and deeply analysing, i'm just drunk and pissed off. ......COME ON CITY
Considering your drunk mate, thought that was an excellant constructive post, even though i dont agree with all you have to say, keep em coming !
