Anyone that thinks Hughes is a decent manager needs their bumps feeling.

He has achieved absolutely nothing as a manager and it really pisses me off when Journo's say he did really well at Blackburn and City.

NO HE DID NOT - NOT AT EITHER CLUB.

He always has been, is and always will be absolutely clueless and he should never have been anywhere near our club.

Cant wait till he gets the sack.
He did well at Blackburn. You can't take that from him.
He just did take it away from him, in huge font!

He did well at Blackburn. There, he's got it back now.

Re: not long left for hughes

He can't possibly survive, Fernandez owes it to the paying public to act, time is something you just can't afford in the prem, qpr have given it long enough IMO.

You can't say he didn't do well at Blackburn. That's being bitter beyond belief.

Exactly. Talk about re-writing history.

No doubt his stock has plummeted considerably since then and he's surely a dead man walking at QPR but that doesn't alter the fact that he did a good job at Blackburn and previously as Wales coach.

I think Hughes will now go down as one of those many managers that promised so much early in their careers but hasn't gone on to fulfil that promise. If QPR sack him then I can't see him getting another top flight job for a while, if at all.

Re: not long left for hughes

He did well at Blackburn, but he consistently talked down their achievements in the years before he got there.

They finished 6th the season before he arrived, had won the league cup a few years before and had made the semi-finals of another, had made the quarter finals of the FA Cup and had played in the UEFA Cup two years running.

Les would have you believe (just as he tried with us and just as he is trying now with QPR) that he dragged them up from nowhere.

He inherited a good side and ...... made them better? No, not really.

He won nothing apart from Manager of the Month November...

Impressive.

From Wikipedia. Souness left just after the start of 2004–05 to take charge at Newcastle,[24] and he was replaced by Welsh national coach Mark Hughes.[25] Hughes secured Rovers' Premier League survival for the 2004–05 season as well as an FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal, with Rovers finishing 15th once again. He lead the team to sixth the following season and Rovers's third European qualification in five years.

Rovers reached the semi-final of the 2006–07 FA Cup, but lost to Chelsea in extra time, and finashed that season's league in tenth, qualifying for the Intertoto Cup, which led to a short run in the 2007–08 UEFA Cup. In May 2008, Mark Hughes left Blackburn Rovers for the vacancy at Manchester City.

This on the back of finishing sixth the year before and winning the League Cup two years before. He got them into European competition but they had already qualified for Europe twice in the previous four years before he joined.

Hardly pulling up trees - like I said he inherited a good squad and... didn't do much or win anything with them.

He took Souness' struggling side and got them into the top 6. Signed players like Samba and Bentley for a pittance and turned them into players that were eventually sold on for huge fees.

Slate him for what he's done since by all means, but saying he didn't do a decent job at Blackburn is delusional and bitter.
