Hughes Sacking - can you honestly disagree ?

Dont think anyone can fundamentally disagree with the sacking. He has spent £40m on two centre halves and lets be honest the defence is worse than last season. Watched Adebayor and Robinho before the match yesterday, to call what they did a warm up would be wrong and Adebayor came out for about a minute at half time. Cant remember seeing robinho.

Someone needs to come in and get hold of those big egos in the changing room. Is that man Mancini? Who knows but he can count on my support and I for one think Kidd as his number 2 is a good appointment. Excellent coach, proven track record with England and United, did good job at pompey last year and knows the premier league inside out. Assume Stoke at home next sat will be interesting, when we watch the defence under pressure will be a test to see whether the new management team immediately improved things?

Can't help thinking that Chief Exec Garry Cook has been involved again...wouldn't trust him with a bargepole.

However, Hughes wasn't the owners appointment and I always thought they'd make a change. Just wanna see Cook follow him now...he's too shady for me.

Not sure I would call it unprofessional. The change over was pretty slick and and ruthless. The concerns about Hughes having his men in place 'like knotweed through the club' (great phrase) turned out to be overstated as 4 of them were dispatched very clinically. The Mancini deal was done prior to the sacking and moving Kidd (big fan) to assistant manager was a masterstroke. I'm almost tempted to believe this move was the real reason behind the Kidd appointment in the first place. Website was updated with the new managment details very quickly as well. No this was a smooth, pro job done without sentiment.

Unprofessional would have been sacking Hughes with no one lined up to replace him, Bowen in charge for a few games (shudder) and Cookie running round like a headless whatsit trying to tempt someone to do the job with the media taking the piss.

Hughes was a bit of a media darling with all that best young British manager balls so they will be lambasting us for a while yet and Mancini will be given a rough ride from the off. First time we lose a game and it will be open season on him and on here as well. Mancini will not get any honeymoon period and any success will be attributed to Hughes sterling work over the last 18 months.

Could have it been done on a day other than a matchday? Yes and I suspect yesterdays events were forced by the Hiddink/Cook link on Friday. Hughes must have have queried that with Cook et al and it seems they told him it was true and that they were looking to replace him. Once that happened the next 24 hours was inevitable. If the link had not appeared in the press then it would have happened out of the glare of a matchday.

But we are only talking a day or so. After spending £200 mill and not getting the squad to perform to its abilities there was no way they were going to let Hughes spend another traunch of cash in January to buy players with the 'proper attitude' etc. I mean seriously would you if it was your money? No one would no matter what the media say. You spend that amount of money and then say sorry got it a bit wrong can I have some more please? Do me a favour.

Cook didn't even have the bottle to talk to the media yesterday, it's his job to explain what was happening at the club yesterday.

we're a fucking disgrace.

look at the sven sacking what a farce- we became a laughing stock again.

now this, are we the most unprofessional professional football club on the planet.

mark hughes was stabbed in the back with one of those curly swords, he's better off out of the place like pinocchio said.

people go on about the draws, but the games we drew, even burnley and fulham at home, we'd have probably gone on to lose last season.

we're 6th in the league, in the semis of the league cup and still in the fa cup(yes i know) and this is how we treat the manager who's over seen us do this.

we lost 3-0 to spurs in the week hughes becomes under great pressure, they lose 3-0 to fulham and baconchops gets fcuking sympathy for his squad being depleated, so when mankini loses to say everton 2-0 away is he going to get the sack?? when robinho doesn't want to go to laser quest with the lads at easter is mankini going to get slaughtered for not being able to handle the boy?

we'll see
