I would be very surprised if Hughes let him go

Turn the question around.....

Moyes has said (regularly) Lescott is going nowhere, if you were city you'd stop asking ?

Thought not.

If I was an Everton fan my reply to this comment would be.

Video interview with Bill Kenright on SSN saying he wont sell Lescott this summer cos Moyes doesnt want to sell our best players.

If I was Man City I would stop asking for him!!

im not saying Ned will or wont go I dont want him to as he improved immensly this season even though he still has his nervous neddy moments!! just making the point that what is said in press doesnt always end up being what happens!!

except Lescott wants out and Ned doesn't so yes Id stop asking, its the worst kept secret in football at the moment, closely followed by who's going to be the biggest threat to the top 4 this season !

Terry "apparantly" wanted out, Adebayor "apparantly" didn't want out, so none of what you wrote means a thing really. Lescott will probably move if we offer enough, and in the unlikely event Everton offer enough for Onouha, he will probably move on too.

Bottom line, if a club makes it clear they're not selling (or that they don't want you), it usually happens that way.

My point in any case, was why should Everton stop asking about Onouha ? Its about negotiation, eventually they may offer enough for Onouha as part of the deal that we accept it, or we may offer enough money to stop asking, but they need a replacement so he may be more important to them than Lescott is for us, but so far I haven't seen any dorect quote from Moyes saying he is interested, but he has said on numerous occasions that Lescott is going nowhere.

There was a rumour a few weeks ago that Ned could go as part of the deal for lescott..Hughes immediately came on the OS to say that Ned is a prize asset and one of our best players last term..and was not looking to offload one of our better players..

why does this thread exsist.???

ned had without doubt his best season last time but he does flap at times and just wants to get rid of the ball and if that means passing to a man who is already marked well he does just that, as for hughessaying hewas an asset horrible harry issaying how good darren bent is but he still wants rid, i dont care either way but you must realise that ned is only ever going to be a squad player only getting a game through injuries etc

I would consider Ned going on loan until Xmas. It would benefit us and everton. Ned wont get in our 1st team if we get Toure and Lescott and that means he wont be getting any top level games under his belt. They have jags injured till xmas and we will lose Toure in Jan and will need a match fit Ned to be ready.

Ok I take on board what your saying and respect your opinion but you have to realise that I have mine because there is no "apparently" in my stating that Lescott wishes to join us and will request a transfer if required. I will concede that my knowledge of whether Ned would put in a request are based purely on Hughes very public denial that he would be leaving and Neds often repeated statements that he wishes to stay here and be part of whats going on, that coupled with him being a Blue and a very shrewd cookie is why I said Ned would not leave. Im sure Hughes and Moyes must be fully aware of both players stance's in this scenario. We'll just have to wait and see cleavers.

Nixon whatever you know about Lescott situation is all fine and well, but even if he does slap in a public transfer request, he's still under contract, and Moyes can still say no. In that case Moyes will end up with an unhappy player, but the player will have no choice but to come out and tell the Everton fans that he "never really wanted to leave". I have no knowledge of Lescott, but he strikes me as a reasonably bright fella, and I doubt he would put his own reputation to far out to hang (no matter what he says in private).

At the end of the day, we'll still have to offer enough to Everton to force them allow him to leave, and since Evertoin need a replacement they will continue to push us on Onouha until we reach a price they will accept, its also highly possible that we will move on to other targets if the demands are too silly.

So far we only have media speculation to go on that Everton have even inquired about Onouha.

id keep him as back up, his city career before february of this year was poor, what suddenly makes him one of our best players?

That's a really good call if Everton would wear it.

WHY DIDNT WE USE JO AS PHUCKING BAIT??????????

How do you know we didnt and a deal is all agreed and the crap we see on Sky and in the media is just to keep them guessing and chasing and to keep Manchester City in the headlines? After what I know (for fact) about the RSC transfer over the last 18months I wouldnt be suprised one bit if this is one deal thats agreed but is being stalled for our own reasons. I'm willing to bet when it goes through the fee will be "undisclosed". I'm not saying I know anything about this deal but remember City know what they are doing and we know fuck all.
