hughes say said "onouha is an asset" so why would we swap?

So far we only have media speculation to go on that Everton have even inquired about Onouha.

Fair enough cleavers only time will tell but its a pleasant change to actually have a different opinion and a rational discussion round it, your opinion's as valid as mine just different.

WHY DIDNT WE USE JO AS PHUCKING BAIT

It was naive and stupid to let him go there on loan without being linked to the deal for Lescott. You could argue we should not be letting any player go to a side were directly competing with. Should be straight cash deals only.

Look at Arsenal, what it’s going to look like if they drop out of the top 4 because they sold 2 of their best players to us? Its not good business selling / loaning decent players to sides we are in direct competitition with in the league IMO.

The news doing the rounds today is that Lescott has put in a written transfer request and made it clear to Moyes he wants to leave; this was a prerequisite for us putting in an improved offer. I don’t think Nedum will be involved in the deal; it would just mean we would have to sign another central defender as cover.

ned had without doubt his best season last time but he does flap at times and just wants to get rid of the ball and if that means passing to a man who is already marked well he does just that, as for hughessaying hewas an asset horrible harry issaying how good darren bent is but he still wants rid, i dont care either way but you must realise that ned is only ever going to be a squad player only getting a game through injuries etc

I've heard some tosh about Our Ned's style of play and this is right up there with them!! I'll bet Terry, Maldini or Lucio have never passed to an opposition player. Ever.

You MUST be pissed. Again.

video interview with hughes on city's website last week, saying he wont be selling onouha this summer.

if i were everton id stop asking us for him.

onouha was great last season... i definately want him to stay

If I was an Everton fan my reply to this comment would be.

Video interview with Bill Kenright on SSN saying he wont sell Lescott this summer cos Moyes doesnt want to sell our best players.

If I was Man City I would stop asking for him!!

im not saying Ned will or wont go I dont want him to as he improved immensly this season even though he still has his nervous neddy moments!! just making the point that what is said in press doesnt always end up being what happens!!

yeah, the PRESS - i.e. not the OS

what is said on the OS is usually fairly close to the truth. fact.

I'd rather just keep Ned and have our back 4 as

Zab/Richards--Onouha--Toure--Bridge

Moyes clearly wants to keep Lescott but if he hands in a transfor request Moyes has problems so he's best to try it on & ask for cash + Ned before it comes to that. Basically Hughes wont have to lose Ned if he doesnt want to. You cant just simply switch this arguement around.

But don't Everton keep saying Lescott isn't for sale?

Nixon whatever you know about Lescott situation is all fine and well, but even if he does slap in a public transfer request, he's still under contract, and Moyes can still say no. In that case Moyes will end up with an unhappy player, but the player will have no choice but to come out and tell the Everton fans that he "never really wanted to leave". I have no knowledge of Lescott, but he strikes me as a reasonably bright fella, and I doubt he would put his own reputation to far out to hang (no matter what he says in private).

At the end of the day, we'll still have to offer enough to Everton to force them allow him to leave, and since Evertoin need a replacement they will continue to push us on Onouha until we reach a price they will accept, its also highly possible that we will move on to other targets if the demands are too silly.

So far we only have media speculation to go on that Everton have even inquired about Onouha.

Moyes would have to be an arsehole to say to Lescott you'll have to put in a transfer request and then still say no you're not going! "So Lescott you did what I asked, I still turned down the move, now explain to the fans why you wanted to leave so they won't boo you all season" Not great management is it?

Why excatly does Moyes have to say "put in a transfer request" to Lescott ?? He could just say, "they've made an offer, and I've turned it down because you're not for sale" (in fact he has).

Thereby if Lescott doesn't want to be booed all season, his choice is clear, don't put a transfer request in. He's under contract that Everton will only break if they get what they think he is worth, and that will be more than City think he's worth you can be sure of that (whether we'll go to what they value him at, is a completely different subject).

I seriously worry about the blue tinted specs that some city fans wear, every player in the world thinking "oh its city, I must demand a transfer". Its pure fantasy, even if we have more money than we know what to do with, we have no track record of getting anywhere near the top, and not every player is motivated by cash alone.

if we give them onouha ,,,i want mark hughes out the club ...only a idiot would clear the future center half of england ...

Lets cut to the chase as Ive lost the gist here now. Cleavers, do you think Lescott's not coming or is at over the odds or will with Ned in the deal ? I just wanted to genuinely know what you think will be the outcome

The press seem to think he has already put in a transfer request and told Moyes he wants to go to city.

If it has happened - game over IMO.

City made it pretty clear that after the Terry fiasco we wouldnt put another bid in for Lescott until he made a transfer request so we are not wasting our time chasing shadows again.

This seems sensible and believable.
