Hughes - Update

Your opinion is expressed really well and I admire the fact that it is not just a " Hughes (or anyone else) is a wanker" thread.
I don't disagree with your VFM opinions either if we were running a normal club budget.
The owners have given MH the go ahead to get the strongest squad together as quickly as possible to challenge asap. I don't believe that they think they have secured any bargains either, they don't really care and neither should we.
If you have paid out £25 mill on a player when your budget is £45 mill it is a huge chunk. £25 mill of £250 mill doesn't seem so bad!
Also I like MH deadpanning the media. They are a bunch of slime balls who will pick up on any comment and magnify it against our club. So keep em guessing Mark.

"Obviously"

So there you have it... Jimharri go ahead take the piss if you must....
Hughes, It's over to you.
I never mentioned your name once Scorer. Check my posts if you want. And no, I won't take the piss out of you. I got a warning for that once before, and I don't particularly want another one, or a ban.

I won't bother thanks. Once bitten and all that.

I can accept well thought out opinion like the OP, what gets me about the Hughes out brigade is the way we win they are no where to be seen as soon as we lose just one he is the worst manager ever etc... and anyone who thinks otherwise is a c*nt is the usual reply.

... That said, with all the financial resources at his disposal I genuinely believe anyone with professional coaching badges would struggle to not create a decent side.
Roy Keane maybe?

Good post Scorer

I was Hughes in last season, for the reason that time to create a team with a fighting spirit is needed and that Hughes Knocking was working against us.

I still do not know if tactically Hughes is a Wenger or Mourinho or Hiddink and I have doubts - the games played so far we should have won (but would we have done so last season - progress ?)

I do very much like that we now appear (still early days) to have a team that is showing a work ethic, a bit of fight, and recognises the need to act as team mates rather than individuals, this can be applauded and is the basis of a successful club.

I expect the season to be successful but not without its setbacks.

Also I would rather bite my tongue than slag the team or individuals as I see that working against what we all want.

"Hughes Outers" get called out after every win, and generally respond after every win.

And I think most are fairly content to have the opinion they have, and if anyone has a different opinion then thats fair enough.

So I'm not sure what you're on about to be honest.
