Good player, imo, very surprised he's gone to Zenit.

I'd have liked to see him at City but 40mil is a bit steep, if we could have landed him for 25/30mil then it'd have been worth a punt.

wow i thought Witsel would have a bit more ambition. With all the top Belgian players now playing in the prem except him and Mertens i would have thought that he would have fancied a move as well.

Maybe nobody wanted to pay that money for him, maybe nobody was able to pay him as much as Zenit etc, etc..

Russian League is going to be very strong and in no more than 10 years I expect them to challenge Ligue 1 and Serie A. Lot of quality there already and there is 7-8 teams competing for CL spots so they will only get stronger to stay in that race.

Russia maybe is not as nice place to live as Madrid or Barcelona but it's huge country with lot of financial resources.
