Hull (a) Post Match Thread

A vital, albeit slightly flattering victory, not dissimilar to the victories at Watford and Sunderland last season.
Did we actually win a 50-50 tackle in the 2nd half?

The main concern is how we progress from here, especially as this time last season, there was a general lazy assumption that things would slowly come good, when as things transpired, the crap continued, but without the last minute winners, or opponents missing open goals at crucial stages.

Good win and whilst others around us had easy home games today we got rid of an away fixture with 3 points.

I still think we have a soft underbelly in the team though, a few times their players ran through two or three of ours and still had the ball. We lack real leadership on the pitch and it's a bit worrying when we're relying on KDB to conduct things and fire the lads up. Such a shame the Bonucci deal fell through as he's exactly the type of player we've missed this season, both for his positional play and his leadership qualities.
I think your absolutely spot on. I've also said it in the past because it's very noticeable. We lack a real leader with grit and can play. As you say, Bonucci I feel fits that mould as does Kompany. Unfortunately we have neither at the moment. When we do I think the whole side will move up a level.

What an idiotic statement.

Claudio had no choice, but to come out for that ball, and Bacary, being the experienced professional that he is, saw the danger and covered the goal line.

It's called teamwork.

He had a choice and made a positive one and then realised he could not get through crowd; it wasn't a cock-up it was a difficult one to judge.

Good 3 points, move on.

Win at scouse shit land and then Burnley and we are right back in it as Chelsea play after us at spuds.

Not playing that well and still in touch, lovely.

Oh, and funny hearing wednesday sing our old song at Newcastle...............\We're on our way, we're on our way...................................those were great laughs.

Difficulty dealing with corners? My commentators said we are the only team not to concede from a corner this season....

I imagine the stats show we are amkngst the most miserly from other set pieces too. Domenec Torrent has a reputation for being able to organise the team extremely well for these situations.

Not sure if already mentioned on the thread but does anyone have the stat for the number of passes leading up to and including our 3rd goal, it's a wild guess but it must've been in the 40's?

Boring tika taka shite according to a few on here unfortunately mate ;-)

Yaya looks to be enjoying himself again, big game again today. Spanish may of lost a yard of pace, but he's still switched on with his flicks and passes. We done the fans, loud and proud today.

I thought we were shocking bad until kelechi came on and started working their cb's.

Folks saying we did same against Arsenal forget that Arsenal are a footballing team happy to play their game against us rather than camp in their box.

Our movement was absolutely shocking until kelechi got in there. This shoehorning midfielders in needs to stop.

Stones can't catch a break and I think he needed a full game and a clean sheet in a back four.

Second half we got the space thanks to the sub and also huddlestone going off and we had a field day then.

Happy with the job at the back today!
