Hull v City Pre Match Thread

If I have it right, Hull won their first game, lost their third and drew the others, so hardly flying. That said, I can't remember who they played.

We seem to be slowly getting up to speed so I'm looking forward to this.

That's a great team. Hoping for a nice comfortable 2-0.

I'm going on Saturday .
A rare away game for me .
Let's hope we have a repeat of last years game .
But without Kompany getting sent off .

I like the look of it too. We've Roma on Tuesday, and Villa away next weekend. Then its a week's break till Spurs. Jovetic and Fernando back next week latest so there's probably no reason to hold back on anybody, even if it means grimacing every time there's a tackle on Aguero.

They seem to have lost their defensive edge from last season, Curtis Davies looks like a shadow of his form last year. Reckon we could really tear them a new one and make a statement.

Feeling good about this as well. Given the last few matches the boys know we cannot let any of these slip. Psychologically and numerically even at this stage of the season we have to win this one.

Hart

Zab
Kompany
Mangala
Kolorov

Dino
Milner
Yaya
Silva
Nasri

Aguero

Kolorov might be preferred for Roma on Tuesday, therefore Clichy in. Nasri preferred unless injured.I think the above will be more than enough to control the game and get the win. Can be more expansive and open up if we get a couple of goals ahead or conserve players through using Navas, Dzeko, Sagna, Demi, Lamps.

0-2 win. Aguero and Silva.

Think demi will play instead of mangala and he will be held back for roma apart from that think your spot on going for 4-0

This is a tweet from City Watch posted the other day, if true then maybe Caballero will get the nod.

City_Watch: Pellegrini: "Willy Caballero will have one or two games in a row because he's a keeper and needs to play."

I think Mangala will be rested for Roma with Demichelis partnering Kompany for Hull.

I also think we will revert back to 4-4-2 in this game.

we have so many possible permutations , full backs , centre backs , midfield , wingers , i really couldnt predict MP's team selection for this , but he will obviously take into consideration the roma game , which is a must win , i would go with : CABALLERO - ZABS , KOMPANY , MDM , CLICHY - NAVAS , DINHO , TOURE , SILVA , MILNER - DZEKO against Hull. Save aguero , hart mangala and kolarov for the roma game and hopefully jovetic and nasri will also be fit , to freshen the side up.

I think Milner will be rested for Roma, he can't play Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, Hull and Roma in the space of 9-10 days, even if he is arguably the fittest player in the squad.

Navas' pace could serve us better against Hull.

I think this is pretty much the first choice team at the moment (Mangala staright in there). My only thoughts are maybe Milner will need a rest at some point and Navas could come in for Hull as his form is good. Nasri if he was fit would be considered a first choice player but I think he is under real pressure now for his place.

Kolarov is sometimes preferred to Clichy but I would go with Clichy. I rate his pace and defensive discipline over Kolarov.

I would go with your team as above.

------------Willy-----------
Zaba-Mangala-Komps-Clichy
--------Fern---Yaya--------
---Navas---Silva----Milner---
------------Dzeko----------

For this:

Willy

Zabaleta Demichelis Kompany Clichy

Fernandinho Milner

Navas Silva

Aguero Dzeko

Really hope Jovetic and Nasri are fit by the time we play Roma.

Jovetic said that he is 100% available for Roma, and maybe ready for little cameo off the bench against Hull.

In terms of opposition and timing, this is a really tough away game.

The big danger is having half an eye on the Roma game. Do that and we are in real danger of losing this game. We need a solid defence so Hart, Kompany, Mangala, Clichy and Zaba should all play. The dilemmas for me are whether to play Navas and Milner, both of whom we will need against Roma. Aguero need game time if he's fit.

It's games like this that test our manager and our squad. I have confidence in both, but this is still a tough fixture.
