If you're travelling along Hyde Road away from Manchester, at the point you'd turn left onto Bennet Street to our old Hyde Road ground, the bridge where the incident occurred is straight ahead. There's a plaque to the Manchester 'Martyrs' on the other side of the road.

The "Fenian Bridge" site is still there on Hyde Road, less than a mile away from City's old ground.

My great grandad was meant to be on duty that day. Swapped with Sargeant Brett who was shot.

When I was taken to town by my mum she alway told me we are getting near to Fenian arch never bridge, Mum was from Ardwick Dad came from Margaret st Gorton he watched the stand burn down , he was born in 1907.
