Hymns you sang at primary school

Have you heard the raindrops, drumming on the rooftops
Have you heard the raindrops, dripping on the ground
Have you heard the raindrops splashing in the streams,
And running to the rivers all around?

There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life
There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life

There's a busy workman, digging in the dessert
Digging with a spade that flashes in the sun
Soon there will be water rising in the well shaft
Spilling from the bucket as it comes

There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life
There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life

Nobody can live who hasn't any water
When the land is dry then nothing much grows
Jesus gives us life if we drink the living water
Sing it so that everybody knows

There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life
There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life

There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life
There's water, water of life
Jesus gives us the water of life

A huge sob has just racked through my shoulders. I used to love singing this in assembly. Occasionly, the chorus words come to me. Old Mrs Blackburn the deputy head on piano lol .... woah that was over 25 year ago now!

also remember the anti war "where have all the flowers gone"

Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to?
Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to?
Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to?
Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to all on that day?

Run to the moon, "Moon won't you hide me?"
Run to the sea, "Sea won't you hide me?"
Run to the sun, "Sun won't you hide me all on that day?"

Lord says, "Sinner man, the moon'll be a bleeding."
Lord says, "Sinner man, the sea'll be a sinking."
Lord says, "Sinner man, the sun'll be a freezin' all on that day!"

Run to the Lord, "Lord won't you hide me?"
Run to the Lord, "Lord won't you hide me?"
Run, run, "Lord won't you hide me all on that day?"

Lord says "Sinner man, you should've been a praying."
Lord says "Sinner man, you should've been a praying."
Lord says "Sinner man, you should've been a praying all on that day."

Dark, very dark. Love it.

When a knight won his spurs in the stories of old
He was gentle and brave he was gallant and bold
With a shield on his arm and a lance in his hand
For God and for valour he rode through the land

No charger have I and no sword by my side
Yet still to adventure and battle I ride
Though back into storyland giants have fled
And the knights are no more and the dragons are dead

So let faith be my shield and let hope be my steed
Against the dragons of anger the ogres of greed
And let me set free with the sword of my youth
From the castle of darkness the power of the truth

I remember that one. Was the only one that people really sang, the others were mostly mumbling.

Me too - nice one.

"Hills Of The North Rejoice" also - and "Abide With Me" we sang at my grandads funeral and I blubbed all the way through it :(

If you hate man utd....clap your hands.
If you hate man utd....clap your hands.
If you hate man utd....hate man utd, hate man utd...clap your hands.
Amen.
Even the Sisters loved to sing a long.
Mother Francis rocking along with a blue banana dressed in tinsel.
It was great growing up in Cornwall to parents from Manchester.

Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the king of kings
Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the king (followed by one kid accidentally singing "Of Kings" due to lack of concentration)

We sang that, what a tune!

Sing hosanna Georgie kinkladze!

Who would true valour see,
Let him come hither;
One here will constant be,
Come wind, come weather.
There's no discouragement
Shall make him once relent
His first avowed intent,
To be a pilgrim.

Whoso beset him round
With dismal stories
Do but themselves confound;
His strength the more is.
No lion can him fright,
He'll with a giant fight,
But he will have a right
To be a pilgrim.

Hobgoblin, nor foul fiend,
Can daunt his spirit:
He knows, he at the end
Shall life inherit.
Then fancies fly away,
He'll fear not what men say,
He'll labour night and day
To be a pilgrim.

Here's what i sang:
1.
One more step along the world I go,
one more step along the world I go;
from the old things to the new
keep me traveling along with you:

Refrain:
And it's from the old I travel to the new;
keep me traveling along with you.

2.
Round the corner of the world I turn,
more and more about the world I learn;
all the new things that I see
you'll be looking at along with me:

3.
As I travel through the bad and good,
keep me traveling the way I should;
where I see no way to go
you'll be telling me the way, I know:

4.
Give me courage when the world is rough,
keep me loving though the world is tough;
leap and sing in all I do,
keep me traveling along with you:

5.
You are older than the world can be,
you are younger than the life in me;
ever old and ever new,
keep me traveling along with you:
