When people encounter my deafness they immediately go into “talking to a moron” mode. I tell them I‘m deaf not daft, which is only a white lie.It is so mad people treat injured and disabled people like we have no brain , usually that is the bit that works fine !

I think everyone should get a month in a wheelchair just to experience it both from a practically point of view and the change in attitude from people.Pardon ;)
I have brain damage which is mostly hidden apart from me zoning out in busy places and i dont have filter so blurt out what i think , i can appear quiet but i am trying hard not to say somethinge inappropriate, fun !
When is your op lovely ? XI think everyone should get a month in a wheelchair just to experience it both from a practically point of view and the change in attitude from people.
Or push someone round in a wheelchair. People speak to you, rather than the person in the wheelchair.I think everyone should get a month in a wheelchair just to experience it both from a practically point of view and the change in attitude from people.
Was in hospital after a seizure a few months back. Was my 3rd in a year and I'd gotten fed up and gone walkies after the other two so the registrar wouldn't let me go for a smoke unless I left my shoes, rucksack and phone behind and got brought out by one of the porters in a wheelchair, not the nicest experience.I think everyone should get a month in a wheelchair just to experience it both from a practically point of view and the change in attitude from people.
