I am just on the way to Yorkshire

In reply to anything they say to you just say either 'appen' or 'appen as not' or if they fail, 'appen as like'.

Schoolboy error, you been watching too much Emmerdale or something?

Virtually no words are appropriate when first greeting a Yorkie, you would stick out like a sore thumb.

The correct etiquette when at the bar or similar is as follows -

Yorkie - Alright?

You - Ug (this is optional, a blank stare will suffice, or if you're feeling overly expressive, a slight nod, then back to your pint).

If you fail to follow this advice, like as not you will get stoved in, and you will have only yourself to blame.

You're welcome.

Set your watch back, to 1977.

How about some light music to get you in the mood?

If the locals stop what they are doing and then point to the sky with a gormless look, don't worry, it's just a plane flying overhead.

Stay on the road. Keep clear of the moors. Beware the moon, lads.
